MAMP Apache Stops After Running the Setup Wizard
I have the latest versions of MAMP (1.8.3) and VirtualhostX (2.0) running. I ran the setup wizard and MAMP Apache won't start after I do that. Any idea what might be happening?

I've had a few users email with this same problem. In each case MAMP was able to start MySQL but not Apache, and there were no errors reported in the error logs. It turns out that there was a conflict between MAMP's Apache and Apple's built-in one. Disabling Web Sharing in System Preferences fixed the problem and allowed MAMP's Apache to start.

Inappropriate?Make sure you've selected MAMP to be your default web server from VHX's preferences. Then, choose "Test Configuration..." from the "Web Server" menu and let me know what errors you see.

If you have a chance, email me a copy of your server settings. I can install them on my test machine and further diagnose the problem. (Choose "Backup Server Settings..." from the "File" menu.) -
