v2 lost all my hosts!
I just downloaded and paid for 2.0, and all my virtual hosts I had set up in 1.x did not appear in the new version, even after re-running the set-up.

The latest version available here:
http://clickontyler.com/virtualhostx/...
has a new menu option "Import 1.0 Hosts" which will import your existing virtual hosts.
Let me know if you still run into any problems.

Inappropriate?I got the new version, and I was able to import all the old hosts, but none of them work. I have the latest version and I have re-run the setup wizard. Also deleting one a recreating does not help. Getting 403 forbidden errors on all hosts.
Actually, after re-running the set up, I get this sort of error now now:
"Safari can’t find the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://beta.dev/” because Safari can’t find the server “beta.dev”."
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? What directory are your website files stored in? By default, the version of Apache that comes with OS X expects all of your websites to be in folders inside /Library/WebServer/Documents. If you're storing them in your local Sites folder (e.g. /Users/<your-user-name>/Sites) you'll need to edit your Apache config file to let it know about the change.
In Leopard, your Apache config file is located at "/private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf"
Open that file in a text editor and look for the following two lines:
DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents"
-and a few lines below it-
<directory>
Change the directories to match where you store your websites, save the file, restart your Mac, and (hopefully) that'll fix the problem.
If you're still running into issues or have any other questions, just let me know.

Inappropriate? That worked. I guess I'd done that once before.
It might be a nice feature to allow users to specify their document root and set this for them as part of the setup wizard, as I'm sure a lot of people use the ~/Sites folder. It's definitely more convenient.
Thanks,
Michael
