Where are the basic instructions???
I'm trying to get VirtualHostX running and am just not succeeding. I've searched and searched on the dev's site, and on here and nowhere can I find the basic instructions. I tried using MAMP and the instructions from: http://seansperte.com but that didn't get me going. So I came on here, and turned off MAMP and figured I'd try Apple's built in Apache - no luck either. This is REALLY QUITE FRUSTRATING that there is no basic checklist of things to do / not to do! For example/ should Apple's WEB SHARING be on or off? (I understand for MAMP it should be off - or at least I read that somewhere).
Okay, time to send this.... damn, again... I'm so frustrated that there are no basic instructions - even on the dev. website! Just go to this hodge-podge forum and do searches.

PS. I have no doubt this is a brilliant product, it just needs How To documentation.

Inappropriate?Sorry to see you're having trouble. The short answer is that there is no documentation or quick start guide. This is my fault of course, but the main reason I haven't felt the need to write one is that users have been kind enough to create tutorials for me. Here are links to a few. If you still have questions, feel free to ask here or email me directly.
A good VHX + MAMP tutorial:

VHX + Apple's built-in Apache:

The Sean Sperte tutorial you mentioned:

And finally one on making VHX work with Windows:

Inappropriate?Hi Tyler,
Thank you for the quick response. Prior to it, I went back to starting up MAMP (I assumed I could do this without it) and retraced all of my steps - and managed to get it working. My tendency is to leave it up with MAMP rather than try to get it working with the Apple Apache option.
Your software is easy to use, no doubt, it's the trouble-shooting some basic items that gets people hung-up. I'd like to make a suggestion that you post those 4 links on your website in an easy-to-find area/link. I have no doubt it would save you a lot of time corresponding with those who are stuck.
Kindest regards,
Mr. Happy
PS. Keep on developing!
