I had an avatar problem with Chrome (uploaded, but could not crop nor save), but signed in with FireFox and it worked flawlessly. -

Your Chrome problem sounds a lot like my IE problem (it just gets stuck, you can't crop or save)

Do you know the size and type of the image you're uploading? -
Inappropriate?I tried first a 27KB jpeg file, then a 8KB png and both did not work (would not save after crop).
However I tried a 97KB jpeg file and it worked just fine. So it had something to do with the first two files I tried.
