What is Cliqset?
Ok, so i was originally very excited for cliqset to come out, but now that i'm in the beta, i'm kind of confused. My original perception was that cliqset would connect w/ all my social nets and basically sync them with it, so that i could go to cliqset and see all my updates from one website instead of 4 different ones and that i could update my stuff and it would update all my other social nets with it.
Could you please clarify which, if any, of my statements are true and more generally what cliqset if for. Thank you

Inappropriate?Cliqset is the first neutral platform that allows 3rd party applications to help create and mold your social identity. You define who you are, who you know and what you're doing and then empower 3rd party applications to have access to manage it on your behalf.
Social sites no longer need to make endless copies of your social graph and profile, they an simply integrate with Cliqset and interact with your social information in one place as if it was their own.
What's even cooler is that because Cliqset provides all of the underlying social features, your friends can be on one application while you choose to use another and you can still interact and share in each others social experiences.
You can now choose an website or app because it's right for you, not just because your friends are using it. -
Inappropriate? You guys seem to be saying "cliqset does all these cool things and you are empowered!11!!!!11", but there's little indication that it actually DOES any of these things. Maybe the documentation is lacking? I've added 'services', and now what? Where are these third party applications?

Inappropriate?We hear you, mishac!
Our beta launch a few weeks was the first of several steps we're taking to foster the great application eco-system. Over the coming weeks you'll start seeing a combination of new Cliqset user and developer features as well as 3rd party integrations.
For now, we suggest you take the time to create your Cliqset identity and find and invite people you know and get comfortable. You're going to like where we're going to take you!

Inappropriate?I get the point but does not seems to work at all...

Inappropriate?Hi meldo,
Would love to hear more. Can you explain what you mean a little further? -
Inappropriate? Can please answer me yes or no on the following questions:
Will i be able to see, for instance, my new feed from facebook, on cliqset?
If i ad photos to cliqset, will it add them to all my other networks, if not at least some of them?
I’m frustrated
-
For some reason it appears our response to this wasn't posted. The answer to #1 is, no. We do not aggregate your friends content. That is not how our service works. We aggregate your content from around the web. #2 yes, we can share photos, bookmarks, status updates and reviews with any service we support 'push' to. -
Inappropriate?I have the same questions. I have added all my services on the web client. I have downloaded the Air app. I have added a couple of services on their because there seems no link between the online account and the air version. I don't see any activity at all even though if I log into twitter, facebook etc, there is plenty happening. It just seems to send out but not bring anything in.
I really want this to work!!! However the lack of explanation on both the web and air app are really frustrating!
Please help - it may be that there is something simple we are not doing, is there anyone working on a 'Getting started' guide?

Inappropriate?I too am experiencing the same issue as the above posters. I have added several services (Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed, LinkedIn, Myspace, Google Reader. I seem to be able to post to the other services from Cliqset, but my Cliqset stream remains as empty as a tip jar on karaoke night.
It was my understanding from a bloq post that I read that Cliqset would aggregate posts/information from my other services and display them in Cliqset as well as allow me to post to my other services from Cliqset. The Cliqset web site was less informative on what to expect. Currently, I can only post to other web sites, and I am uncertain what is supposed to show up in my stream.
I logged out and back into Cliqset yesterday. I removed and re-added several of my services, and I tried logging in using Internet Explorer 8 (Firefox 3.5.x is my normal browser). Still nothing but the sound of crickets chirping.
A heads-up from Cliqset clarifying what the service is supposed to do and what we in this thread may have done incorrectly as far as configuration would be greatly appreciated, even if the information is simply "Our service is not working as designed. Try again in a few weeks."
I do realize that this site/service is in beta and that I am not paying for this service, so I am trying to keep my expectations in check.
I shall monitor this thread and visit the Cliqset site next weekend for new information.
Regards,
David

Inappropriate?Hi David,
Here's the deal.
Cliqset aggregates all of your content (tweets, bookmarks, blog posts, photos, etc) on your behalf from the ~70 services we support, shares it with your followers and creates a real-time conversation around it. We also make it very easy for you to create and share content within Cliqset and also push it out to a 3rd party service that you've configured.
Cliqset is about making it easier people who're interested in what you're doing/say/thinking to follow you and engage in a conversation.
Each service we support has a different set of options you can select from when you wire them up. In the case of the few you mentioned, only Twitter and Google Reader are supported content sources. MySpace, Facebook and FriendFeed are 'push' only, meaning you can share content to them.
In either case, the support options and what they actually do should have been part of the service configuration process.
So why aren't your tweets appearing then? We having looked at your account, we see that your Twitter profile is protected. We do not currently support aggregation of protected Twitter feeds right now so we will be unable to pull anything in for you from there.

Inappropriate?Basically, what I am not getting is if it is working as it is supposed to. I understand that for other services, it is "push only." However, I am not seeing anything from Cliqset getting pushed anywhere, say to Facebook to pick an example. Overall, I am just not seeing the point of this service at this point.

Ok, take that back. It finally showed up on Facebook, but it does not show as "Cliqset." It just gives the note (what I did in this case) with a shortened url. You know, finding a way to throw in a little logo or a "via Cliqset" into the blend when it posts to FB would really help. -
Inappropriate?I keep adding, but the plot thickens. Apparently it does put "via Cliqset" when you look at the status on your FB profile, but not on the News Feed page that others see. Hmm, could use some work. I am still waiting to see what it does for other services like MySpace, Goodreads, my blogs from Blogger, and delicious.
