Inappropriate?Hi David,
What do you mean by "support?" Are you hoping to have these included in our distribution? Or are you hoping for us to become experts on these tools so we can troubleshoot them?
These tools aren't used much in the community at this point, so they're not as stable as HDFS itself. For said reason we haven't attempted to package these tools with our distribution. That said, they are still compatible with our distribution. By using Cloudera's Distribution for Hadoop, you are not restricting yourself from using them.
I can assure you that we're thinking about better ways to interface with HDFS, but that's about all I can say.
I hope I've answered your question, David. I'm sorry I don't have a better one.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have. Let me know.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Hey David,
As Alex mentions, the current implementations of these file system interfaces have some known instabilities. A recent addition to the Cloudera team will be working on HDFS full time and will be addressing some of our customers' top concerns; seamless integration with modern file system interfaces is a common one and will be sure to get some attention soon.
It would be helpful if you could describe your use case and which interfaces you'd prioritize for implementation. If you're not comfortable doing so in a public forum, feel free to drop me a line at hammer@cloudera.com with the requested information.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon, and thanks for your interest in Cloudera!
Regards,
Jeff
