Inappropriate? You could assign a tag for each feature you would like to track. We implemented tags to give our users a flexible way to introduce different kinds of groupings without the limitations of a single hierarchical structure. Moreover it is possible to filter backlog items based on tags (both tags assigned and tags *not* assigned). Hope that helps!

Inappropriate?Great, that works well enough for me.

Inappropriate?I still would like to be able to write a description for a feature even if it's a tag - and then provide a report/list of which features are in the backlog - without all the details that the stories give.
-
Inappropriate?Unfortunately we don't plan to add any additional description to tags. Like in other web applications tag is just a string that you can interpret as you like (however unlike in many other web apps it can contain spaces).

Inappropriate? On a deeper level this is really a question whether backlog should be flat or hierarchical. We believe in former, because only then the order on the backlog expresses clear priority. Tags as a grouping mechanism don't break that order, which is why they are the solution we suggest for this kind of problem even though it is not exactly a hierarchy you ask for.
