The search results come from Google local search, we display what we receive from them which normally includes the full street address if it's provided.
It may depend on the place. I have search results here which do include the exact address including street number. Check out this screenshot from the iPhone simulator.
Clicking on 'Show Map' should usually pinpoint the place exactly in the Maps application which is the best way to get directions.
