I bought Timepost, but it does not work with the actual ActiveCollab.

My Timepost "Account URL" is pointing to http://sub.domain.com (which is the root of my AC install) and I have no problems connecting with AC v2.1 corporate, Timepost 2.6.4.

I think, I found the solution:

for your ac v2.1 version, you need "clean urls". Then it works with the url http://sub.domain.com

From the activecollab webpage:

activeCollab can use three different ways to generate URL-s:

1. http://example.com/public/index.php?p... - In this case, path info goes as GET variable. This increases compatibility with web servers (some versions of IIS for example) that have problems with properly handling path info. This method is default since activeCollab 2 beta.

2. http://example.com/public/index.php/p... - This method uses server's ability to extract path info from the URL and make it available to the script. Unfortunately, some servers do not properly handle this situation which causes some compatibility issues. This method was default for 1.0, but was replaced with #1 method in activeCollab 2 beta and later.

3. http://example.com/projects/12 - System uses server's URL rewriting engine (mod_rewrite for Apache for example) to provide 100% clean URL-s. This method is not used by default, but you can follow these instructions to enable it for your setup.

Go to http://www.activecollab.com/docs/manu... and follow the instructions.

I think it is sad that people spent money on this, and support guys ARE indeed around, personally emailed me... but refuse to asnwer questions about support. I hope that no one is still paying anything for this worthless module. The last post here does not work with new versions, and it has beeen four months since anyone from this company has bothered to respond to a support question. They should take their sales page down at least. I wish someone would do it for them.

I had the same problem, and just removed the "/api.php" from my URL, works fine now.

This is sad. The company should pull down their page if they are not going to support the app. I am flooding get satisfaction in effort to get someone to respond. Obviously there are a lot of people upset.

The company did pull down their sales page - all their domains expired (save for workapi.com, which will expire in June, at which point every copy of Timepost on earth will stop working)

Is there an alternative for the timetracking?

I know of one company that http://www.appsmagnet.com/ that has shown interest in this project when he realized the lack of solutions in this area.

I hope they will create a similar product - they offer superior support by far. I have had a few discussions with the main developer specifically about this module. Last I checked, it was not high on the to-do list but he was unaware of the lack of support or options for a similar solution.

They are not taking custom work right now, but if there is as high of a demand for this app as I think there is... Nirav with appsmagnet is more than capable of creating something far superior to this one, and this fits his niche well.

(Look up his "Get Satisfaction" and take a peek as his modules created for active collab)

It's rather sad really, Timepost was rather good in my opinion. In fact, I'll admit to it being the inspiration for my product! Well, the complete lack of support for an otherwise good product was my inspiration.

Well, looks like Mark showed up again to renew his domains. Still no responses to support queries though. I should hope this is a precursor to him getting back and actively working on Timepost again (because not having any competition sucks) and not just him making sure the free money for nothing line stays open. Am I being too pessimistic?
