Timepost doesn't list tasks for projects in 2.6.2 for Mac
I'm connecting to Basecamp with a Basecamp login (not Open ID). Projects download fine but tasks don't populate in the drop downs. Time tracking against tasks is enabled in Basecamp and I've tried clearing the cache and updating projects several times.

Inappropriate?Ditto since upgrading to 2.6.2. Also not loading new projects that have been added in Basecamp.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Same deal here, so I did what I've done in the past when experiencing upgrade problems like this one:
1. Closed Timepost
2. Renamed the existing Timepost.db and also the new(?) Projects.plist files*
3. Restarted Timepost
4. Added my Basecamp credentials and updated the projects
There's likely a better sequence to follow than what I've listed above - one that preserves your existing credentials and timers, for example.
hth,
Mike
* Your user's Timepost.db and Projects.plist files are located in [userfolder]/Library/Application Support/Timepost
I’m not pleased, but can deal.

Inappropriate? Thanks Mike, that seems to have done the trick. Not happy that an upgrade like this caused Timepost to choke, particularly with a $40 app.
I’m concerned.
-
Inappropriate?Indeed, thanks Mike. That worked.
Ditto on comment about the $40 app. This bug made it unusable for a day, which is a problem because me and my team count on it. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for posting those suggestions, but we're reluctant to follow those since the app *was* working fine until yesterday. I'm hoping an update can fix this. It is unfortunate that updates have been breaking this software, but at least the fixes generally come quickly!
I’m sad

Inappropriate?I am experiencing this problem as well, and can handle the workaround, but is there any chance an update is going to be pushed out soon for this problem?
-
Inappropriate?I appreciate that the company's put some hard work into this release, but I can't get any projects to download even after following the steps Mike gave above.
I'm only starting to use the application for the first time, so the problem is that none of the projects are being displayed. The gear spins to imply that something is being downloaded, but it stops silently and leaves the list with just the default timer.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you,
James

So, you're not seeing your projects in the first place? That could be a different issue. The primary issue being reported and discussed here is related to not seeing any _tasks_ listed for your projects.
One thing you could try - though it might be redundant - is to clear your Timepost app's cache. One way to do this is to go to the app's menubar and select Timepost->Empty Cache... -
Also just incase you were not aware, James, projects are not added automatically (would be nice, tho ...) and have to be added using the "plus" button in the bottom left corner of Timepost. -
Inappropriate?Ah, thank you Stephen, how stupid of me! Yes, now I see the list of projects! Thank you. The task list isn't populated, but I guess I'll have to fiddle some more: thank you!

Inappropriate? And as an update, I can now also confirm that Mike's solution solves the problem. Thank you for your patience with my imbecility.

Glad you got it working. :) -

Glad to hear it, Raymond. Official patches are usually my preference while workarounds like the one I offered are really only for those who - like me - just can't wait.
