why doesn't comcast negotiate with GSN? i emailed both parties; and it is comcast that has to negotiate with GSN in order for us customers to have this network. i was satisfied when time/warner had this cable service. I WANT GSN! and it looks like i may be switching over to direct tv! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN COMCAST PERIOD!!
I just had a service technician out to look at my internet and was told that they couldn't fix it. I would have to wait for a line technician that would take up to 48 hours. Then a representative called me and said it would take up to 72 hours for someone to come out . She also said that residential service is not a priority and just considered a luxury. What kind of crap is that. I pay for a service that should be up at all times expecially when I do use it everyday for work. I'm definitely going to look into dropping comcast and going with some one else. I think comcast stinks. I would like someone to come out to my house today and fix the line problems that we are experiencing.
We are relocating our offices and have followed the protocols to relocate our Comcast communication line. After getting repeated promises from Comcast Customer Service center Representative and their supervisor that no problem it will be done and someone will contact you soon, we never got a call back from Comcast. Our deadline is tomorrow. I wanted to know, are we alone in this horrible Comcast Customer Service Experience? Does anyone has any advice or suggestions to us. Thanks.

Dave Owens of Comcast has been discussing this with myself People Plus, Inc. Suite 5 and Kathleen Horton of BK Security and Home Automation since October. Agreement was reached with our landlord to allow and assist with aerial wiring.
Both our businesses are fed up and disgusted with Verizon DSL service/cost. We both are home Comcast High Speed Internet subscribers. The difference is amazing.
So Where Are After 2 Months. We still don't have Comcast Service?
Comcast called me last week and left a message for me to call them back .I did the same day .I got voice mail.I left a message and no one ever returned my call that was last Thursday. It was at the Fort Myers office and everytime I call the number that was left I get a voice mail. I am concerned that they are so overwhelmed with applications they forgot or misplaced my resume.Because no one ever called me back. I wonder if they have already interviewed someone else for the Dispatcher position even though they called me.Thank you for looking into this for me . Rod
My comcast internet connection drops sporadically... but only HTTP services i.e. my Outlook can still connect to the email server but my browsers can't find the internet. I don't have this problem with the same PC at school therefore it is an issue in my home network. I'm using hardwire ethernet cable connection (not WiFi). I reported the issue to comcast and they blamed the cable modem and replaced it with a new one... no difference. The drops can literally happen between page views (I search on google, get results, then click on a result and it drops... same with my email, shopping on amazon... etc).
Is there any way to reach Comcast's NOC instead of getting pointless technician visits? When I see >25% packet loss inside Comcast's network using an *inbound* mtr, Comcast always wants to send people to diagnose my cablemodem. This is a pointless waste of my time and doesn't solve the problem.

What's the story with Comcast and the digital TV switch-over that's coming in Feb 2009? According to the various gov sites, if you have cable TV, you're not affected. So I called Comcast and the rep told me that they will discontinue all analog channels in Feb 2009 as well and that the cheapest digital package starts at $55/month. So what's the real story?
I'd prefer to just keep everything "as is", but if Comcast is going to dump all the analog channels, I guess I'll have to dump Comcast cable (I guess I'll drop Comcast internet too if I can get DSL in my area) and try using one of the new coupon boxes instead, however I don't know if I will be able to get it to work with my ReplayTV boxes.
So, does anyone know if Comcast really is going to dump all the analog channels?
Comcasts new Career site applying for jobs is complicated , and not user friendly. The Old system gave you an option to eneter the state you were applying in . This new site does not give you a state and you have to search page by page to weed through all the other states . The old system was efficient , fast and easy to follow and it only took about 1 to 2 minutes to apply and look for jobs in the area you live in. Now it's rediculous you have
to search page by page to find old the jobs in the city and state you live in. I hope they go back to the old Career site.
Comcast stupidity if AMAZING. Why can't they actally spend money training their help desk beyond....is your computer ON? Do you have WINDOWS? Is it plugged in? Comcast. screwed with the Email server so the email can be received but none sent out. and when email arrives it is in multiples of 3 or 4 of the SAME EMAIL....Geeeez!!!
COMCAST- I live in rural central New Hampshire and have been trying to get Comcast service to my house for three years. Last week COMCAST told me that even though I have a comcast line going right through my back yard, I can't get service because the line isnt "activated". I dont know how to get them to activate the line! And I know I have many neighbors who would also pay for Comcast service if it was made available. If anyone from Comcast reads this, please help! i am connected to comcast but not directly.... i am upstairs and am connected through a great receiver to a router my signal is awesome!! but guess what everytime i seem to try and downlaod a video or itunes music i get disconnected EVERYTIME. Its not fair to a paying customer to get disconnected all the time. I cant wait for AT&T to get some service in my area because if this keeps up ill be glad to switch.
Comcast - at least in Fort Collins, Colorado - requires a widow to bring their spouse's death certificate to obtain repair service for broken equipment, etc., even if her name is already on the account with her late husband's. They consider the male of the household the "primary" account holder - so the female is not worthy of obtaining repairs or service from them. This is terrible to put a widow through, with all the other things she has to deal with: funeral, relatives, etc. Comcast doesn't make a widower bring his wife's death certificate in to the office to get repair service. What is that all about? In my case, we had service at the same address in both of our names for over 20 years - since cablevision first arrived in our area. And this is how I was treated. It is ridiculous.
COMCAST service SUCKS! Last week we had a technician come to bundle our 2 phone lines with our internet and cable. 4 service calls later (and numerous hours waiting) we still do not have consistent dial tone. In addddition, when a call can get through, the caller gets a garbled voice from us.
COMCAST SUPERVISOR wants to give a 5th technician a try (with a 4 hour service window).
I asked for a supervisor who knew what they were doing, but the people who handle the calls can't communicate with the repair side.
I believe that one of the definitions of stupidity is to do the same thing over and over again and expectet a different outcome.
Comcrap in my opinion, well about 5 days ago I was in a trip in the Caribbean. To find out when I get back there's comcast people digging in my yard to put in a cable. Not only am I happy with that but when I go to make sure my Sprinkler system works It DOESNT. The thing is is that I have directv not comcast, I call my neighbor finding out they sent out a flier saying "We will be installing cables to bring comcast to your door". Finnaly after 25 phone calls I get a hold of someone. They say, "It is not our fault that your sprinkler system doesn't work. I am now very agry, 1.Destroying my yard, 2.Bad customer service. DONT USE COMCAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a hi def. box just like the one I have through Comcast but when I connect it to the cable I only get basic not the Platinum package with all the movie channels that I pay for each month. Please help!!
How do i bypass the comcast call centers? I had a question related to a billing mistake. A comcast employee left me a message that she had resolved my problem and to give her a call. She even left her extension for me to reach her. When i try and call the (866) comcast phone number to speak to the comcast employee who left the message, everybody who answers tells me that they can't transfer me to her extension and that I need to keep calling until I reach the correct call center where she works. I must have called five times today and
I was on hold a total of 65 minutes. This is unbelievable. A call center employee who answered on my fourth try today told me that I just need to keep calling until I reach the right center. Anybody have any ideas on who i should call? I even have a ticket number but they still can't help me or transfer me.
Internet Problems, Channels Not Showing Up, Service men just leaving notices and not knocking...
I was in my living room and noticed a truck pull up and leave, went to the door, the ass placed a notice "sorry we've missed you" on the door. WTF... He didn't even knock, so Now I have to reschedule another maintenance visit to have someone come fix their lousy equipment.
HORRIBLE!
Cant wait to switch to satellite. For me to pay over a hundred every month for bad service is an outrage. I get better service from the city utilities than I do from Comcast. I have decided to cancel my contract soon and get a dish. Everyone I know hates Comcast and their service... so why support a company that obviously doesnt know how to train its employees and provide better quality service for what we are paying
