Alternatives for Comcast extremely BAD Customer Service
After our cable service was suspended I contacted Comcast to get a direct service contract however their terrible customer service made us to decide that we no longer want to even consider Comcast as an option.
Our service was previously provided by Comcast trough out a community connection paid via Home Owners Association. However the association terminated the contract with Comcast due to their lack of flexibility and poor customer service; this situation force each resident (in a 1,300 homes community) to shop individually for cable options.
Despite bad taste for the suspension of the community contract, we had decided to get Comcast hoping to get a good deal of $99 for the three services (TV, Internet & Phone) during two years as being advertised at that time. However we called sales at Comcast an they tried to sale to us other different services (more expensive off course) but they didn't mention the promotion. Then we found that promotion in a local store and we purchased; but we still have to call Comcast for installation. After the appointment was supposedly confirmed we call to verify that we will keep same phone number, but Comcast Rep said that it will not be possible unless that we cancel that appointment and set up a new one, such that they have time to request AT&T to release our number; we accepted but they never come.
Comcast never came to do the installation and then we called again to ask about it and the customer service rep just said that there was no record of the previous call. We took the name and number of the customer service representative that confirmed us the appointment but still they insisted that they don't have records.
The only option that was given to us, was to start over a new order at a higher price and wait 1 or 2 weeks more for installation. After 6 weeks almost begging Comcast for service, we had enough. We don't recommend Comcast to anybody.
Actually we found a better option that could be useful to other helpless Comcast users:
- Fast DSL Internet by AT&T $ 32 + Tax
- Unlimited Home Phone and Long Distance by T-Mobile $ 10 + Taxes
- 28 Digital TV Channels (Great quality) - Free Broadcast $ 0
- Netflix subscription for movies & other TV programs $ 10
Total less than $59 ($52+taxes) and the best thing WE DON"T DEPEND of a single company, secially if that company has a extremely BAD Customer Service like COMCAST.
