Bandwidth Hog? I got a stern warning call from Comcast today...

That sucks. I agree with Amy on the comment about open wifi (first thing to check).
One tip I have in case Comcast is your only alternative: when you talk to a tech on the phone, ask if they are in your area. If not, have them transfer you. I've found that local reps have access to data that's more relevant to you (potentially the info they neglected to tell you), than whoever else you get assigned to in some generic call center.
I’m annoyed by Comcast sometimes...

Inappropriate?Wow. That's crazy. So unprofessional it almost sounds like a prank call. I can't believe they couldn't give you figures on your past usage or whether or not it was upload or download. And if there's no limit in your terms of service, then can they really threaten service shut off? Especially if it's a new issue. You'd think they'd work with you a bit on it. Sounds like you need to get in touch with someone higher up the chain of command to figure this out.
As for troubleshooting a cause, though -- That IS a lot of usage for one month. Do you have an open wifi network? Maybe someone's leaching? Or perhaps your computer caught something nasty and it's causing some background processing that you're not aware of? Or someone else in your house is doing something you don't know about -- like downloading stuff like it's going out of style?
I’m frustrated for you & rather curious too

Inappropriate?I've gotten the same warning from Comcast for my August usage. They have no proof and no follow up other than a monthly report of excess "usage"

I’m fustrated at comcast for lack of understanding and working with its customers

Inappropriate?I've heard that Comcast is stopping down service or limiting uploads for folks who, say, do a lot of sharing via Bittorrent. Does anyone know if that is truth or rumor? And, if true, does anyone know what kind of limits Comcast tries to impose? Just curious.
I’m wondering

Inappropriate?Comcast's activities attempting to block bit torrent has come to light thanks
to the AP and other reporter. Though comcast is trying to deny it.
