Comcast - can you get your nose out of my family?
When I needed to change the name on my account due to a death in the family (the account was in that person's name) Comcast required a death certificate for this change to take place.
When my friend wanted to change the name on an account due to a divorce, Comcast required BOTH a marriage certificate AND a divorce decree.
Gee, Comcast. Welcome to the family. Seems you are in on the most intimate details.
I find this really strange. Anyone else have these issues?

Inappropriate?Hello Walter,
I am sorry about the loss in your family.
If you were not able to provide the death certificate, you should have been asked to provide one of the following documents:
Obituary notice from a newspaper
Death announcement or
Funeral receipt
I apologize if you were not presented other options in providing the documents needed when you were changing the name on the account. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us.
