Comcast doesn't care.
I have had poor connection issues with Comcast for a long time. I experience random disconnects, either explainable by excessive maintenance issues or just unexplained. Well, I called Comcast, navigated through their phone menu, and told the customer service reps how dissatisfied and frustrated I am with the internet disconnecting. I am a graduate student and have to use the internet for school. Comcast just gives me smart-aleck remarks that they'll refund the downtime by the number of hours. However many cents that is. I called them again after a prolonged disconnect and they sent someone to my house today.
The "tech" was of course full of crap, said the problem was with the cables and the splitter. They don't "meet Comcast specs." So he said he was going to charge me for the service and the cables. The only reason the internet came back on was because of the power recycle. We checked the speeds. I had 0.5 kbps upload, which he admitted was inadequate and not what is guaranteed. But he said, "What more do you want, I fixed your internet didn't I?" I could have done what he did. He did nothing and I have to pay for what? He told me I could talk to his supervisor, and I will. I called the customer service people again and told them about this tech's rudeness to me. I am sick of wasting my time with Comcast and dealing with these damn connection issues. Comcast has a poor network infrastructure, and as soon as Verizon offers FiOs, I'm done with this crap company forever. In the meantime, I want STABLE internet service, my service fee waived, and discounted internet fee until the service is stable. I want to be notified when maintenance will be down and how long. It's unacceptable the way Comcast can disconnect you at any time for however long they want. I HATE this company.

Inappropriate?Splitters and internal wire can cause trouble. If they are within the house/apartment, they are considered the owners responsibility. That is why we do offer a plan for internal wiring.
