I'm trying to purchase your product . . . just let me!!!!
Comcast is my only cable option. No Fios availability and I have no place for a dish. Problem is, I can't actually get someone to come install it. They don't have any appointments. I take that back. They can come next Wednesday at noon. I'm sorry, but I'm a productive member of society, so I will be working. I'm not willing to waste my vacation time waiting for the cable guy. The soonest they could possibly come is one month away, but they aren't taking appointments for those dates yet. I have to call back and hope and pray that I can get one.
I offered what I thought was the perfect solution: just send me a box. Heck, I'm even willing to pick it up. I was told that this was not possible because the installer has to "do something" in my building. No he doesn't. I can hook up my television and get basic cable already. I can hook up my own cords thank you very much. It's really not that difficult. But no. Not an option.

Inappropriate?Save yourself the trouble. The first time something goes wrong you will have the exact same issues getting someone out there to fix it. You're peeved at not being able to get someone out there to hook it up for a month. Imagine if you were paying for it already and it was broken and you had to wait a month to get it fixed.
Some day, comcast will understand that for most people, taking time off of work is not an option. Money's tight as it is.

Inappropriate?Seriously. Actually the rep told me that "lots of people" are home at noon on Wednesdays. I told him, "Great. Can you reschedule one of their weekend appointments for Wednesday and come install mine on the weekend instead?"
Come on Comcast! You are going to have a lot of requests for weekend installations. Hire more people to work on the weekend!
Money isn't really the issue for me as I am salaried. It's the time off! I live 3,000 miles away from my family. I get exactly 3 weeks of vacation each year. I like to take 3 one-week trips back home each year. If I take a half a day off, it means I don't have enough vacation to take one of those trips. I'm not going to do it!! I'd rather just not have TV. -
