ReplayTV and Zap2IT lineup missing channels (not digital)
This is not actually a Digital Cable issue, it's an issue with the cable lineup information being provided to ReplayTV and Zap2It (I believe the two use the same source).
I have "Expanded Basic" Cable service in the 97219 area. With this, I get channels in the range 2-60-something. I use a ReplayTV unit for my viewing and recording -- older technology, but it works. The ReplayTV unit downloads the tv schedule nightly. Today I discovered that my Friday recording from channel 59 (SciFi channel) had not occurred, and the channel information on the ReplayTV covers channels 2-31 only.
Apparently this started early Friday, 3/6 -- the unit saved a message about the channel discrepancy then.
So, I went to www.zap2it.com to see whether my shows might be rebroadcast (and, for that matter, to find out what's on right now). I see the same channels 2-31 there. On Zap2It, I can select the Digital lineup, which seems to be accurate at least for what's on channels 59 and 50 right now, in addition to covering a lot of channels I don't get.
But I don't have this option for the Replay guide. I think that Comcast is providing an incomplete channel lineup to the service that supplies both ReplayTV and Zap2It.com.
Is this a temporary issue, or permanent?
For reference, I think this URL will take you direct to the channel lineup as shown on Zap2It:

Inappropriate? The cable lineup information that was provided to ReplayTV and Zap2It by a third party company, reflected the channel line up that will be effective after digital transition. As you are probably aware, the digital transition hasn’t occurred yet. As a result, the recording problem occurred because your equipment is following a new channel line up.
Once the digital transition is completed, you should be able to record your shows as you normally do. In the meantime, you may have to change the settings on your ReplayTV so that it can follow the old channel line up.

Inappropriate? Thanks. The day after I posted my question, I received mail from Comcast about the transition, and the fact that channels 32 and up were being moved to digital, so I figured there was a connection there.
I did find the alternate lineup choice on the replay unit -- it's a bit obscure, and nothing to do with Comcast. Recording is back to normal for now.
Appreciated the followup.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? What alternate configuration? If my replays won't work, there is no need to stay with Comcast. The DTA (Pace DC50X) is not compatable with the replay.
I’m pissed.

Inappropriate?Clearly this move is to make Comcast more money.
The DTA box does not only effect folks with VCRs or DVD/VCR combo's, it also effects people who own Tivo Series 2, Replay TV DVRs and computer TV tuners/Media centers. So to get unattended timer recording on VCR and VCR combo devices, you are forced to pay Comcast for their DVR equipment or get a basic box with timer functions built in (you would have to set 2 timers for this to work).
ReplayTV, Tivo Series 2 and Computer tuners/media centers, just forget about it. There was no reason they could not design their DTA boxes to be a pass through system or they could have included a timer function in the box.
I say file a complaint with the FCC like i did, if you make enough noise the FCC will investigate and hopefully remedy this situation. You can file an online complaint here:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Please take a minute to file an online complaint. If anyone knows a lawyer/is a lawyer who would like to file a class action lawsuit, please get that all running. This would definitely be a landmark case.
I’m frustrated and mad
