Why is comcast email such a hassle?
Why does it take so long to sign into my Comcast email account? I want to get online and check emails quickly, but instead I have to wait for all of the advertisements to load. If I'm paying so much each month for high speed internet, I don't feel I should have to wait for advertisements to load. Plus the mail preview never seems to work. It always says there is a problem. And why can't they keep me signed in instead of making me go through the sign in process each time I check it each day? Yahoo has a feature to keep me signed in, why doesn't Comcast?

This is probably not the time for the advertisements to load, but instead a your cache may be looking for an incorrect file. Here is how you correct this. If you are using Internet Explorer, click on tools > internet options > Delete Cookies and Delete Files.
I apologize for the trouble!

Inappropriate?used to be able to click on Comcast.net Sign In saved in my favorites, type in my login and go directly to my email. Now when I click on Comcast.net sign in, it immediately goes to comcast.net homepage, I have to click on Sign In. Screen then goes back to comcast's homepage. I wait till all the advertising comes up, then I can click on Mail. I have even tried to save the Smartzone communications site directly to my favorites but it overwrites the already saved link.? Three step login processs now just to see email? What is the Smartzone communications email login site, so I can just see my email?

Setup an email client like Outlook express for your comcast account. It's much better than using the comcast webmail. here is an eHow showing how to set it up...It's very easy. http://www.ehow.com/how_2175786_setup... -
Inappropriate?I would like Comcast to comment on why they feel it is appropriate to force advertisements at its paying customers via the email system. This is simply an outrage. Besides any load time issues, the ad window reopens itself every time you click on something else. This is not a "free" email service like Yahoo. We pay a hefty sum for this service.

Again setup a POP3 email client for your comcast acct and you never have to open comcast.net again. Outlook Express comes preloaded with Windows, set it up and you'll never look back. No ads, no logons, no comcast useless crap, just your email. Plus if you set it to "leave mail on the server" you can still use comcast.net if you need to check your mail on the road. -
Inappropriate?Don why the heck should we as paying customers have to go thru the hassle because comcast wants to change things so that they can put what amounts to spam in our mail... I pay for the service not the other way around.

Bruce I never said they are right but the bottom line is Comcast does not care about you or me. They don't care about customer service, they care about market share and profit. You can get mad and protest about what you think is right all you want but the end result will remain the same. If the webmail ads truly bother you, as I was merelry pointing out to those who don't know. You get around it in <3minutes by setting up a POP3 email client to access you comcast mail account such as Outlook or Thunderbird. And have more and better features than smartzone -
Don , I am running windows vista 32 bit and instead of outlook express like xp has there is windows mail. I am not seeing any option to leave mail on server. Any ideas?? thanks, Bruce -

This is AWESOME!! Great job figuring this out!! You don't have to change a thing if you click the link. JP -
Inappropriate?Setting up a POP3 is fine if you only check your email from one computer. When you login all your new emails are downloaded to your pc and are no longer stored on the server. Then later, if you are at a remote location and want to pull up an email you already read, you can't....because its not on the server anymore. The cool thing about web based email is its the same on every computer you may use. So for someone like me who uses 3 different computers on a regular basis using Outlook Express is not really an option.
-
Wrong...In every POP3 client I've ever seen you can check an option to leave a copy of messages on the server. This way you can still use the webmail from any PC as you describe. In fact I setup Outlook on each of my home PC, Windows mobile phone, work PC, and my laptop to connect to my single comcast mail account. I get all my mail on each and I can still use comcast.net webmail if I need to. The only thing I don't get across all is the address book but I sync that with my phone -
Inappropriate? That is fantastic...seriously....That is great. It may not solve everyone else's problems, but it solves mine. I prefer to use Outlook instead of web based email, but since I didn't know you could choose to keep the emails on the server, I was limping through with the web based stuff. Thanks for the tip. I'm rolling now.

Inappropriate?I just got off another waste-of-time chat with comcast csr. I'm now checking into some great deals with AT&T and Verizon.
I’m fed up

Inappropriate? What the heck? I just want to simply sign in, like I could two weeks ago? This is B.S. I just went to comcast email login and finally found an "email" option. Before that, I've had to scout around and waste time. I've spent 10 whole minutes just trying to get my mail; which doesn't sound like alot, but it's a standard now to get in quickly, and 10 minutes is a freakin' eternity. I'm going to find everyway I can to negative feedback, for whatever good it'll do.

Inappropriate?I have never been thrilled with comcast, but we are given no real options in my area. They charge too much, I never can wait between 1 and 5pm. I want to make a time, have them stick to that time, and them not charge as much. I agree with the above, you should not be paying a huge price and then deal with advertising. It's ridiculous. Customer service went out a long time ago!!!

Inappropriate?Ironic this page came up only a few links below my Google search for Comcast email login. Most of the time when at a home or work desk, I use Outlook, but occasionally need to access the account for other reasons, such as adding names to my 11-year-old daughter's email filter. I no longer bother w/trying to embed the login page as it changes so often and as many here have already mentioned, when trying to access remotely, I feel like the rat in the maze chasing the cheese. If I am searching for email access thru any of the major portals, the first link should be a Spartan page, no images of Jessica Simpson, just 2 simple entry fields for name and password. Comcast should take note of the absurd reality that so many customers are taking time to go thru such a page - Google - just to check their email when on the road.

Inappropriate?I have just the same problem. Siging into Comcast eMail is such a bother I don't use it any more. On the rare occasion I do try to sign in, it is so difficult, I just think, "Why am I bothering?" Well, perhaps because I am paying Comcast so much for supposed "high-speed" internet service, I think perhaps I should check in with their "lousy" eMail which is almost as bad as their equally "lousy" internet service!
Thank you!
