Difficult for new stories and photos get "Thumbs up"

It seems that it is difficult to get a large number of thumbs up when you post pictures as a new member. The early photos that are listed as "most popular", get more views and therefor continue to get more "thumbs up". It seems a little too hard for new comers to reach the top. We would like new members and their photos a chance to receive many "thumbs up" and thereby get published on VisitSweden.com. Can we work on this?

Yes, it is a multi layered problem where the first photos got an unproportional amount of thumbs up and that the rating system doesn't take time passed into account.

We are upgrading the entire CommunityOfSweden.com platform and the rating system will undergo changes.
