Flic.kr urls with Darkslide and Tweetie
How does one get Darkslide to use flic.kr urls? It seems to always generate bit.ly links in Tweetie, although I have not tried connecting it to other Twitter clients.

Inappropriate?I think this is a Tweetie thing - it tries to shorten every URL with its own preferred shortener - bit.ly. Darkslide is sending a flic.kr URL, but Tweetie's then shortening it automatically.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the quick answer. That's kind of unfortunate, especially if the bit.ly link redirects to the flic.kr link which redirects to the flickr.com final url.

Inappropriate? When I use Darkslide to post a Flickr link via Twitteriffic, I get the URL's long version, not the flic.kr version.
When I change Darkslide's Twitter client setting to Tweetie, a bit.ly URL initially appears in the editing field, presumably because Tweetie sees a long link and is being aggressive about it.
When I set Darkslide's Twitter client to Safari, the "Post to Twitter" button brings up Twitter's mobile interface, which doesn't respect the "status=" GET argument -- the editing field is blank. When I switch to Twitter's Standard interface via the button at the bottom of the window, then the photo URL appears, but again, it's the long form, not flic.kr.
I'm using Darkslide Premium 1.6.2, at least according to iTunes -- the "version" and "build" fields in Darkslide's own About window are both blank.
Thanks for your time. I'd really like to be able to use flic.kr-style URLs, so I'm glad you're thinking about it, even if it doesn't seem to be working for me. -
Inappropriate?Hey Fraser, I assume you are using tweetie:///post?message=URL_ENCODED_MESSAGE to post to tweetie right? That does invoke bitly-ing. Can you send me an email at support@atebits.com We could probably work something out for Tweetie 2.0 :)
