Pricing policy
I find it hard to believe that in this age where social networking comes free of charge you have the audacity to charge for an iPhoto plugin! I dare say you will probably this as being the ramblings of a crank and you maybe right but it's a crank you have alienated and who will not be recommending you due to your pricing policy.

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.

Inappropriate?Hi Martyn,
I'm not sure if it's totally clear from the website, but FlickrExport is not a Yahoo/Flickr product. I don't work for Flickr and Yahoo doesn't pay me for the work I do on FlickrExport.
Is there some revenue model other than direct-payment licensing that you think would be better for FlickrExport? Always open to ideas but I do like it when my children have food to eat, so revenue has to come in somehow.
Best,
Fraser -
Inappropriate? So you think he should give away his hard work? An independent programmer shouldn't be able to make a living and support his family with his work? That's brilliant!
I’m annoyed.
-
Inappropriate?I for one must say that I prefer the pricing policy of connected flow compared to those of most social networks (ads)
-
Inappropriate?Martyn,
I await your free version with eager anticipation. Hurry up, though.
I’m amused

Well played, sir. -
Inappropriate?I find it hard to believe that in this age where social networking comes free of charge users have the audacity to complain about the cost of an iPhoto plugin! I dare say you will probably see those complaints as being the ramblings of a crank and you maybe right but it's a crank that is alienated and who will not be receiving the benefits of this iPhoto plugin, because they are cranks.
I’m entertained

Inappropriate?FlickrExport (which is NOT made by Flickr) is well worth the price, both for iPhoto and Aperture. Fraser deserves the money for his hard work as an independent developer.
-
Inappropriate? If you don't feel it is worth a few bucks to pay to be social, I would hate to hang out with you for a few beers.
I’m amused

Inappropriate? There's always someone who wants something for nothing. FlickrExport has a very nice set of features and is very inexpensively priced. I love software that delivers this well.
I’m baffled
-
Inappropriate?Call me crazy, but:
a) I had no interest in FlickrExport.
b) Now I do.
c) I'd gladly pay for it.
One would think — what with social networking being "free" and all — that people, by and large, would be more willing to part with an extremely modest number of dollars in exchange for something that works well, makes their lives easier, and clearly had a lot of hard work put into it. Hopefully, one is wrong only occasionally. Give an inch, take a mile, and all that.
Funny, though: social networking is about as "free" as Gruber's content. Actually...far, far less so. -
Inappropriate?Let me say this: I've been using FlickrExport for quite a while now (I think since the first version released), and it's the best damned $15 I've spent.
Get a grip, Martyn. If you don't want to spend $15 on a plug-in that's going to save you a bunch of time, maybe you should develop your own and give it away, just as you expect Fraser to.
I’m amazed by people who expect something for nothing and then gripe about it.

Inappropriate? As a software developer I find the author's attitude completely logical.
I think he shouldn't be paid for washing dishes at Denny's since the water I had with my meal is free and he washes them in water.
Why shouldn't I get clean dishes for free, too?
(Ok, logicians, why doesn't that hold water (ha, ha)?)
I’m inconceivable!
