Problems with replacing images with FlickrExport 3.0.0b29
I'm using FlickrExport 3.0.0b29 for Aperture, and am experiencing a number of problems:
1) When I _replace_ an existing image on Flickr, I find that the image (shot) date is wrong on Flickr. It seems to be using the date the image was uploaded, instead of the actual (EXIF) date the image was shot. This results in the sort-order getting messed up, when I try to sort a set by the image date.
2) I exported an Aperture album of 77 photos to a new Flickr set. After the export was completed, I found that there were only 70 photos in my Flickr set. Exploring a little deeper, it seems that all the "missing" photos had already been uploaded (using FlickrExport) to different Flickr sets. Apparently, this causes a problem with FlickrExport not adding these photos to the newly created set. After figuring out which photos these were, I was able to manually add them to the new set, but it would be really nice if FlickrExport took care of this for me.
The way I would expect things to work, FlickrExport would either: a) Not re-upload the photo, but add a reference in the new set to the existing image; or b) Upload another copy of the photo, and add that to the new set (this could be handy, since I often export the same photos using different settings). c) Prompt me for what I want to do. I realize that I can specify in the global preferences whether to replace existing photos or not. I'd like to see it more as a per-session setting, or being prompted per-photo.
Along with this, I suppose it might be nice to be able to add photos to multiple sets simultaneously. I don't think I have a lot of call for this, but could see it coming in handy at times.
3) I still experience FlickrExport "hangs" fairly regularly, where I have to force-quit Aperture to regain control. Sorry I don't have any more specifics right now. I really don't know what triggers it. Will try to get a Sample in the future.
Keep up the great work!
I tried reporting problems earlier, using the email address that I'm told to use on the "How to Report A [sic] Bug" web page <http://connectedflow.com/kb/HowToRepo...> Why not update this, and save folks a lot of frustration?
Cheers!
