Tags not uploading
Tags not uploading to flickr anymore. The post-upload experience is also different (when creating a photoset)--not sure if they changed anything. Is there an update in the works to address this?

Inappropriate? Can you give me a bit more detail on this?
"Tags not uploading to flickr anymore" - did you see them in the tag field in FlickrExport, or did FlickrExport not pick them up from Aperture? Which fields in Aperture are you using for tags.
"The post-upload experience is also different (when creating a photoset)" - different from what - an older version of FlickrExport, or some previous version of Flickr itself? In what way is it different? What did you expect and what actually happened?
Thanks,
Fraser -
Inappropriate?Hi Fraser. Sorry for the ambiguity.
Before, when I uploaded files, tags would move from Aperture to Flickr without issue (I've uploaded more than 1500 images, all tagged except this last set). As has always been the case, the tags are in the "keywords" field in Aperture, and I have "Headline" mapped to Flickr's title, and "Caption" mapped to Flickr's description. Flickr seems to be picking up the title and caption as expected.
Regarding the post-upload experience, I'm talking about Flickr itself. After uploading, I used to always get a page which reviewed the photos being uploaded and which allowed me to add descriptions, review tags, etc. This page has changed (perhaps in layout only), but it's on this page where I noticed no tags were making it from Aperture to Flickr. I tried twice, deleting the existing photoset and photos and clearing the Aperture Flickr fields between tries--no success.
Which prompts me to ask, when this problem is resolved, when I upload a photo and replace the existing ones on Flickr, will it add tags to existing photos? Earlier versions of Flickr Export for Aperture didn't add metadata when re-uploading. -
Inappropriate? The tags (and now the description) don't seem to be making it from Aperture to FlickrExport. Do I have corrupted preferences or something?

Inappropriate?Hi Narayan, Fraser:
I am experiencing the same problem with iPhoto and tags not exporting:
http://www.getsatisfaction.com/connec... -
Inappropriate?Interesting that Narayan is using FlickrExport/Aperture and Carl's using FlickrExport/iPhoto. I don't see the same problem using either version of FlickrExport 3.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.1.
Narayan, is 10.6.1 any better for you?
I’m confused now
-
Inappropriate?Fraser, I haven't yet upgraded (though I may soon--I typically wait until the .1 release :) )
When I first posted, the IPTC caption was being used for the Flickr description. Now, as shown above, the caption is missing (in addition to the tags).
For what it's worth, it's doing this on two machines, my MacBook Pro and my Mac Pro.
Are there some preferences or .plists I can trash to see if that fixes the problem? -
Inappropriate?FlickrExport's preferences are stored in:
~/Library/Preferences/com.connectedflow.flickrexportaperture.plist (or com.connectedflow.flickrexport.plist for the iPhoto version)
If you wouldn't mind, could you move your existing preferences aside (move them to the Desktop or something) rather than trashing them. If that does clear up the problem, I'd like to see the preferences file. -
Inappropriate?Well, it was the prefs. Everything is working just fine now.

I saved the older prefs but don't want to post them (my "omit" tags are street addresses). Do you have my email address--could you send yours?
-
Inappropriate?Same here, Fraser, it was the preferences. Took them out of the Pref folder, forced FlickExport to rebuild them, and the problem is solved!
Thanks :-)
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? Please send those pref files to info-at-connectedflow.com, thanks!
