PicLens 1.8.2 not working with Safari 3.1.2 on OS X 10.4.11

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm unable to get PicLens working for me. I'm using Safari 3.1.2 on OS X 10.4.11 and PicLens 1.8.2. Whenever I click the PicLens icon, I get the canvas but it flickers and I see nothing.
