love the app... 1 suggestion is to tie comments/chat/conversation with RSVP's rather than having them separate. People are used to using their rsvp as a soapbox.

Inappropriate?hmmm, makes sense. A layout challenge though where the RSVP has to be high and prominent on the page where the comments which tend to get really long needs to be at the bottom. Perhaps I should chuck this whole verticali thing? Hmmm. Keep the feedback coming.

Inappropriate?it's tough entering a space where the 800lb gorrila (evite) is so dominant, but the reality is that mainstream users are so used to that layout, process, experience. however, you guys have done a killer job and keep up the good work!
i sent out my first invite a few days ago to 100 late 20-somethings in LA (think lawyers, facebook users but not web 2.0 friendfeeding types) and have encountered confusion. a good chunk of people have figured it out though.
perhaps truncating a personalized comments following the rsvp status? that could keep things vertical. Or having other options for displaying rsvps - list, text only w/ small avatar, etc. beyond the grid layout.

Inappropriate?Aside from the needed UI improvemtns, yeah, if people have evite expectations there will be confusion. I like the comment prompt after RSVP'ng. That sounds good. Will help ease people out of evite :) Familiar, yet new.
It's been an independent effort by a small team thus far. But help is on the way and early next year we'll see more significant improvements.
The list view of the guest list is a popular request. That's high up on our feature list. Right now the page breks if you invite hundreds of guests and chose to display all guests on the page. It should automatically go to list view if there is too many. -
