Why is Tracking macro data inconsistent with page info?
There is very inconsistent output from the parameter of "page age in days" vs. "first view date". They do not match. For instance, a page shows 831 days age, but the first view date is just a few days ago. All pages have a different first view date than what the page age output shows. Would this be tied to when the plugin was installed instead of getting actual page info?
The markup used is:
Total Page Hits: {tracking-info:value=view count|type=gif}0 {tracking-info} since {tracking-info:value=first view date|type=gif}0 {tracking-info}
Last view date: {tracking-info:value=last view date}0 {tracking-info}
Age in days: {tracking-info:value=age in days}0 {tracking-info}
The markup used is:
Total Page Hits: {tracking-info:value=view count|type=gif}0 {tracking-info} since {tracking-info:value=first view date|type=gif}0 {tracking-info}
Last view date: {tracking-info:value=last view date}0 {tracking-info}
Age in days: {tracking-info:value=age in days}0 {tracking-info}

Inappropriate?Hi Ken,
What day was the page created? Also which versions of confluence/macro are you using?
regards,
-Rob -
The page noted by the data was actually created Feb 23, 2007. We are using confluence 2.8.2, Tracking Plugin 2.4.1. As a FYI, reporting plugin is at 1.2 (which we plan on upgrading), but did not know if that has any influence on the tracking data output. -
Inappropriate?Hi Ken,
The age is the number of days since the page has been created. Since Feb 23, 2007 there have probably been 831 days, the view is the number of times that a view event has been captured. -
Yes, but the "first view date" should be reasonably close to the Feb 23 2007 date, yet it shows May 28 2009 based upon the code {tracking-info:value=first view date|type=gif}0 {tracking-info} -
I also noted from the plugin page that Tracking 2.4.1 requires Reporting 3.0. Does this "error" fit into the situation of not having the appropriate Reporting rev? -
Inappropriate?Hi Ken,
The number of views in your instance wasnt captured until you installed the plugin (as it has no way to determine what happened in the past).

-Rob

Thanks. I was also thinking that might be the case. It might be worthwhile to note this in the documentation. My original expectation is that the plugin would still collect history prior to the installation. -
Inappropriate?Hi Ken,
That is a great suggestion - I have updated the documentation at http://www.customware.net/repository/...

-Rob
I’m thankful
