additional central pictures folder for all wikis like the smileys folder
additional central pictures folder for all wikis like the smileys folder
but with customized pictures.
I have many wiki folders now and there are certain pics i use in most of them (example: for marking important points) and it's frustrating and inefficient to copy the same pics to every wiki location.

Inappropriate? This idea was submitted in the old forum, I fully agreed with it and I still like this idea. If I may add something, I would suggest to be able to centralize them in some folder anywhere, for example, on the storage card. This way, we do not use the device storage memory for those images.

Inappropriate?A better - and more general purpose - approach might be if I modify the parser so that it can re-use the links between wiki locations for images.
e.g. if I currently use
[SYA|mypage]
to create a link to 'mypage' in a 'SYA' wiki, then something like:
[$SYA|syalogo.gif$]
to show the image 'syalogo.gif' that is in the 'SYA' wiki
That way, rather than come up with a new way to define a central location that can be synced and still make sense on multiple devices and/or computers, the existing approach can be reused.
If you really want a single place for images, you could create a new wiki location just for images - perhaps calling it 'IMG' or something like that.
That's probably going to be my approach - I'm very busy at the moment, so I don't know when I'll get a chance to do this though.
Feedback welcome in the meantime, though.

That's a great idea, Dale ! and that's why you are the best ... If this is easier for you (I have no idea in programming), I would be really very happy. -
Inappropriate?I like both ideas
(1) having a "default" \images\ folder.
(2) being able to use images from a different wiki.
I think both ideas would be helpful, but I think it might be fairly cumbersome to find images in other wikis, so for my needs having a default images folder which could be customizable would be more useful.
In the mean time, I think a relatively practical solution exists.
(1) make a folder called "bLADEwiki.img". I am putting this on a networked drive on my LAN. It will be listed below my blade wiki directory called bLADEwiki.
(2) place all your important images in there.
(3) when you make new images that might apply to more than 1 wiki, always put them in there.
(4) when you make a new wiki ... start with plopping the entire bLADEwiki.img directory first !
Low Tech, yes.
Manageable ? Yes !

Inappropriate?Hello Dale ! Did you have the opportunity to have a look on this ? I'm still very interested ...
I’m thankful

hi - sorry, I haven't. I took a quick look, realised that it'd be a fairly big job, and haven't put any time into working on it. sorry - it is still on my list
