Ideas for new features
Not sure what to do with the app now...
I wrote a blog post bouncing a few possible ideas around - if these (or any other ideas!) take your fancy, please add them to the site here. (Preferably a different post for each idea, then people can rate/review/comment on each one individually, and we can get an idea of which ones are popular).

Inappropriate?Hi,
Application works pretty well for me and the only instant new feature I would like is if the application to connect to the comm port either all the time or at least often enough to maintain the data for the "power usage by hour graph"
I keep getting gaps in that data :(
Regards
Ian. -
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll have a think about it.
As an aside, it's worth mentioning that the new version of the CurrentCost meter will help with this, as it will apparently maintain an hourly history for 31 days rather than 1.
I'm not suggesting you should rush out and buy the new version of the meter when it comes out though! I just thought that might be interesting :-) -
Inappropriate?New idea: as well as having the "live" graph tab (the red line which is updated with the 6-second interval data), could you also introduce another tab called "live table" which contains two columns: the left-hand column with the time of the data HH:MM:SS and the right-hand column with the power consumption reading in kilowatts to 3 decimal places. And the best bit would be if we could copy and paste this data into our excel spreadsheets, assuming an export data to csv was more involved in terms of your programming!?
Of course the problem with your present graph is:
- the user cannot adjust the scales to enable fair comparison between saved png images
- it's not possible for the user to download the 6-second interval data which you are presumably using to create the graph in the first place, preferably in csv format for the non-xml programmer types out there. I'm a basic computer user, but would love to get my hands on this 6-second data so I can play with it to my heart's content.
Will you be able to add extra graphs/tables once people start linking their currentcost monitors to as many as 9 individual appliances once CurrentCost release their IAMs?
I use a CC128 Envi. -

Added to 0.9.24
Note that the app does not store live data in it's database. So it only exports live data captured since the last time you restarted the app.
