Email alerts for bookmarks in my Delicious inbox?
Hi there! I've been a big fan since I started using Delicious in 2006, and now I'm in a position of bringing it to the nonprofit I work for as an aggregator of social media mentions across the Web. We'd also like to privately bookmark things that require some sort of follow-up on our part, and assign people who are responsible for the engagement by using the "for:" tag.
So, while it's great that the private bookmarks tagged as "for:[person]" appear in their Delicious inbox, the only way they'll ever know that it's there is if they either (1) check their Delicious inbox or (2) subscribe to its RSS feed.
However, managing RSS feeds is not a part of many people's workflows, so I don't think subscribing to their Delicious inbox is a sustainable solution. And, I don' t particularly like the idea of being dependent on staff to manually check their Delicious inbox for new bookmarks.
Is there an alternative way to proactively alert people (by email?) that they have new bookmarks in their inbox? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Inappropriate? Thanks for asking! Delicious doesn't have a built-in way to provide email notification for new Inbox items, but their Inbox feeds can be fed into a RSS-to-email service such as RSS:Forward or FeedBurner.
An Inbox feed URL is only visible to that person when they're logged in (linked from the bottom of their Inbox page), so you might have to work with each person to copy-and-paste that link to you so you can set up the forwarding service for them.

Inappropriate?Wow, thanks Britta! I didn't know about RSS:Forward, and I definitely didn't know you could do all that stuff with Feedburner, so this is great info and just what I was looking for. Appreciated!
I’m super-happy!
