Why should I want to sync Delicious with my browser?
I love Delicious and have a thousand bookmarks saved on my main account, with subsidiary accounts for other purposes. I don't understand the purpose of the latest update/extension, to sync Delicious bookmarks with Firefox ones. One of the benefits of using Delicious, for me, is NOT to keep a record of all the sites I value on the various computers I use. Additionally, the only advantage I can see to this syncing is having access to the bookmarks when offline -- but what is the point of having a list of unobtainable websites? If my net connnection is down, the last thing I want is to be tantalised with what is unavailable.
I suspect I am missing the point here. Could anyone either give me a succinct explanation of how this feature is supposed to help my life, or, preferably, point me towards longer discussions (blog posts, articles) that explain this conundrum? And, secondly, as I have not yet OK'd the "Delicious Bookmark Add-on", how can I get it not to pop up everytime I start FF? Thanks.

Inappropriate?I believe that people find the Firefox add-on useful mainly because it gives you quick, convenient access to your bookmarks. Instead of having to go to the Delicious site to browse one of your tags or look for a bookmark, you can do that from the add-on's toolbar or sidebar.
You can put the add-on in Classic Mode though, if you don't need the syncing and just want the "tag" buttons. Other people like that mode because it's simple and unobtrusive, and they don't mind (or enjoy) going to the Delicious site to view their bookmarks and those of their friends.
Sounds like you're getting the "install wizard" popped up every time you start Firefox. You can get rid of that by signing in (and then switching to Classic Mode if you like), or by disabling this add-on from the Add-ons window.
Let me know if you'd like more details!
