A new section for catalog DIVX/XVID/MKV movies.
With a big collection of Divx and Mkv movies... a great idea was help catalog this files with the Movie information (download from internet), cover art (from internet or manual upload), and a link to open the movie file in Quicktime/VLC...etc.

Inappropriate?fametown- We try to keep our app pretty niche, and not work on making it do things other applications have already achieved. Since iTunes lets you organize your digital movie collection, it doesn't make as much sense for us to do that as well :-) The purpose of DL2 is more for cataloging your physical collection rather than your digital one.

Inappropriate? And what you're failing to realize, my dear DL2 employee, is that iTunes is seriously lacking in the movie cataloging department - ie only allowing thier mp4 or mov formats, when avi (xvid/divx) and mkv are the two most popular movie containers out there; it doesnt show rip info and specs; doesnt let you play the movies from your default player or choice; and cant import and attatch ratings, destcriptions and trailers from from places like imdb, amazon, and youtube <--- all things that would make the first individuals to create such a product the instant leader in the world of movie cataloging.
on the other hand, what you guys are doing here, is already being done by dozens of other folks of which i could post the links to right here, though i will not, as that would be cheeky, :P
I’m perplexed
