Barcode scanner hangs on Snow Leopard?
Using either DL 2.1 and 2.2, whenever I fire up the barcode scanner in my newly installed Snow Leopard, spinning disc shows up and nothing happens. With the same database, DL 2.1, and 10.5.8 barcode scanner worked fine.

My apologies to everyone who is/was experiencing barcode scanner issues in Snow Leopard. Apple made so many subtle changes in Snow Leopard, which ended up breaking some of our features... however, we've been working around the clock to track them down and fix them!
We have fixed many barcode scanning issues in Snow Leopard with Delicious Library 2.3. It is currently in beta, but will be released to all very shortly. If you're running the 2.3 beta or official release, and you're still having problems with your barcode scanner, please let me know so we can start working on a fix for you as soon as possible!
I’m happy this is fixed.

Inappropriate? In middle of huge project and cannot enter a "blank book" - just get the spinning wheel. Barcode scanner doesn't appear to be working either. Super frustrated.,...help,.
-
Inappropriate? This happened to me. So I went into System Preferences:Bluetooth ... removed the device, then had OSX re-recognize it as a new device, and now it works.
-
Inappropriate?I tried deleting and re-installing the scanner without success. Worse, when I try to use the scanner, it crashes DL 2.2.
I’m unhappy

Inappropriate? In my case it's just the iSight based barcode scanner; it never pops up. I guess I should try this on my mini later.

Inappropriate?Hmm- I'd like to have this filed as a bug. Please send us a description of the problem at support [at] delicious-monster [dot] com, and post your case # here.

Inappropriate?I got it working by removing preferences files; some date way back from DL 1 originally, and the more recent ones worked with DL 2.1 during Leopard at least; however, Snow Leopard upgrade broke it, and DL 2.1/2.2 just couldn't add books anymore. (I guess that the com.delicious-monster.library.plist is for DL 1 and com.delicious-monster.library2.plist/com.delicious-monster.library2.LSSharedFileList.plist are for DL2 ; I deleted all of them)
Now I can add books again, whee :)
I’m more or less happy

Inappropriate?Same problem here ... scanning hangs in 2.2 and 2.3 beta in Snow Leopard
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Atomische- We *just* released a new version of the beta (within the last hour or so). It's fixed some more bugs, and also has some better error reporting stuff built-in so we can help track these issues. Please download the latest version (use the link on this thread), which is build 11605 of Delicious Library 2.3. If this resolves your issue, please let me know. And if it doesn't resolve your issue, pleeeeeeeease (x4) let me know! If you haven't already, you can get a case number for this issue by emailing your problem to "support [at] delicious-monster [dot] com". That way, it'll get sent to our bug tracking system :-)
Let me know if you have any further information or questions regarding this issue, and I'll be happy to work on it with you!
I’m trying to get everything resolved before the big release

Inappropriate?I have this problem too -- though, weirdly, it only happens most of the time. If I'm feeling persistent, and I want to Force Quit and re-open DM a few times, sometimes I can get the scanner to work. (Then after I scan a few things, DM will give me the message about how it's become unstable and may not be able to save recent changes. If I quit and re-open then, it always does seem to have successfully saved my entries.) I think re-booting may improve the odds of having the scanner come up successfully, though it's hard to tell.
Anyways, I'm glad to hear a Snow Leopard / OSX 10.6 patch is forthcoming.
I’m confused.

Inappropriate?I figured what causes this - if I'm in list view, it doesn't work. In the coverflow-like bookshelf mode, it does seem to work. Ugly workaround but hell, at least now I can use it again.. (this on the latest 2.3.1 beta, but pretty sure it worked same with 2.2 too, I just wasn't frustrated enough to find out.)

Inappropriate?Hmm, there seem to be a bunch of different threads on this topic, which should probably be merged... Offhand, I can find this one, plus:

In one of those threads, a workaround was discovered for scanning whille in List view -- if you manually add a new item using an ISBN (even a duplicate of an existing item), and then delete that item again, you will then be able to activate the iSight for scanning. (This solution worked for me.)
I’m multiplicitous.
