Barcodes on paperbacks don't scan quite right
I have a lot of mass-market paperbacks and when I scan them I often come up with the wrong titles. This is not, however, because the EAN has been reassigned or somesuch. When I check the scan results against the number printed below the barcode, the scan is wrong, usually an error in the last digit or two.
I have not run into this problem with hardbacks (well, with their jackets), only with paperbacks. I've tried to get as much light on the surface as possible but that doesn't make a difference.
Any suggestions?

Inappropriate?Michael,
Delicious Library uses ISBN numbers to look up books. With paperbacks, they put the EAN on the outside and the ISBN on the inside cover-- so if you scan the barcode on the inside it should give you the correct result.
