Can't I simply use a normal scan of a barcode (JPEG, TIFF etc.)?
I see an option for using a barcode scanner, can I also just use a scan of the barcode? How?
If not, why isn't this feature part of Delicious Library? I don't have a webcam.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?from previous conversations, the barcode recognition software created for DL2 requires the scan to be real time video (i'm assuming for edge detection) so a image scan of a barcode wont work.
IMHO, if you are going to go through all the trouble of scanning the barcode using a flatbed scanner, then you are much better off either typing the EAN/ISBN in manually or buy a webcam.
PS: Which mac are you running? might give me a better idea of what your options are -
Inappropriate? Thanks! I'm using a Mac Pro. I didn't get that you can just enter the ISBN instead of the name. That's a lot faster of course, yes.
It would still come in handy to be able to just shoot 100 photos of the barcodes and have them batch processed but I guess you might have to wiggle a bit until the scanner software is happy, so the video is necessary.
Can I ask you something else? I have some books that don't show up in the right size (but with the right cover). When I copy/paste the size from a similar formated book, nothing changes. Is there any way to change it manually?
I’m thankful
