Can't sync due to passcode not displaying on phone
I'm trying to sync the iPhone with v.2.1.1 for the first time. The Mac app says 'Please enter the passcode displayed on "Dave" to pair it with Delicious Library 2.' But no passcode is being displayed on the phone & it's called Dave's iPhone, not Dave. Is the apostrophe screwing this up? It's a 32gb 3G S, wi-fi is on (and it's on the same network as the MacBook), Bluetooth is off (on both). Thanks.

Inappropriate?dave yes, rename your iphone to take out the apostrophe.

Inappropriate? The computer's named Dave's MacBook. And all due respect, but I'm happy with the phone's name. I have no problem syncing 1Password or Bento with an apostrophe in the name. I'll just put the collection into Bento instead.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Dave- you shouldn't have to take the apostrophe out. We automatically remove everything past the apostrophe, since the ['s iPhone] is generally implied.
Since we submitted the app to the store before 3GS came out, we had no way of testing with that particular device. I'm wondering if it has something to do with that.

Inappropriate?Got it to work. I went into the Firewall prefs, deleted Delicious Library 2 (which, BTW, did allow incoming connections), added it again, and got a passcode. Perhaps when I added it before, it was an older build and that made a difference?

I had to do something similar with my Firewall settings and iPod touch (2nd gen). My firewall was set to allow all incoming connections, but once I changed it to specific applications and restarted DL2, I was prompted 3 times and then the passcode appeared on my touch. Just to troubleshoot a bit more, I changed the firewall settings again to allow all incoming and it worked properly before I changed it back to specific applications. It's almost like the firewall needed to be "reset" before the iPod touch could see the passcode, even though it was set to allow all before (whoops, heh). Working great, thanks! -
Inappropriate?Very interesting-- thanks for the tip on that, Dave. I'm sure this will come in handy for troubleshooting =)

Inappropriate?I have the same configuration as Dave above with the 32 GB 3GS and cannot get the pass code on my iPhone. This ALSO happened on my 8GB 3G before I moved onto the 3GS. Both systems were/are running OS 3.0.
I've tried the firewall configuration with no luck (it was allowing all incoming traffic, then I specified Delicious specifically to accept with no luck.
I am also running Little Snitch, but have even tried running this while Little Snitch is deactivated with no success... any other ideas?

Figured this out. It's a computer name issue. If the computer is not named the sync does not work. -
Inappropriate?FWIW, I was able to connect to DL by creating an ad-hoc network on my MacBook Pro and joining that network on my 3GS.
I haven't been able to try resyncing at on my home wireless network yet, but it worked first go, using an ad-hoc network, so I don't think it can possibly be the computer name.
Must be a networking/firewall issue.
I’m relieved
