Certain video game boxes displaying incorrectly.
I am having a small nit-picky problem when adding videogames into DL2. My Wii and Xbox 360 games are displayed beautifully (they look like the real boxes), but the PS3 and DS games seem to be displayed in standard DVD cases. The real life cases are smaller and clear in the case of the PS3.
I have edited the platform field dimensions field, but it seems to have no effect. The only reason I bring this up it because the Xbox and Wii games look so fantastic, and I was wondering if I am missing anything with the PS3 games and DS games.

Hrm, that would be the LCC (Logitech Control Center), not LLC.

Thanks to @dmmueller, we installed and tested DL2 with LLC running, and this is indeed the source of this frustrating problem. It turns out they dynamically insert their code into every running program, including Delicious Library 2.

They did this in such a way as to break the app (by defining their own- [NSString containsString:], which overrides ours and messes with the formatting--SO CLUMSY! Irritating at best.
We have worked around this problem in 2.1, so at that point you'll be able to run LLC AND have correct formatting in DL2. Yay. Sorry for the trouble everyone, and thanks again, dmmueller, for tipping us off to the source of the problem.

Inappropriate?Just out of curiosity, were these items in a version 1 library and then moved migrated to version 2? The PS3 and DS games should display correctly. If you wouldn't mind experimenting for me, go onto Amazon.com, find a PS3 game, and drag and drop the Amazon URL into your library. Let me know if the case is correct.
Here's what they should look like.
-
Inappropriate?Hi there. Thanks for replying.
To answer your question, the games were not migrated from version 1, they were added in version 2.
I tried the drag and drop method and unfortunately the same problem occurs.
Also, after looking at your picture I have noticed that the Wii games that I have in my library are shown in black "default" DVD cases instead of white ones like yours. The Xbox 360 game cases are the proper shade of green though. -
Inappropriate? Can you post a screenshot of one of your PS3 games with the details panel showing in edit mode? Maybe we'll find a discrepancy.

Inappropriate?Ah, you're adding them from Amazon.ca (Canada's Amazon). I'm guessing here, but if you select "Prefer results from US" and you add one from Amazon.com (United States) does it draw correctly?
I’m puzzled
-
Inappropriate?I actually thought of that too, but again there seems to be no difference.

Inappropriate? Can you compress and send me your data file--Delicious Library Items.delicoiuslibrary2? We'll see how they display on my machine.

Inappropriate?I am experiencing the same issue, all my cases look like DVD cases. Bluray, Wii, DS, GBA all try and have the grey DVD case. I added a PS3 and original xbox game, same thing.
XBox360 show the green case
country shows US in the edit page, im using 2.0.5 (v10707 just downloaded and purchased today) -
Inappropriate? Here here. Tried to add Professor Layton on my new Macbook Pro with brand spanking new download of DL2. DVD cases for anything with DS.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?I was hoping I would hear from Delicious Monster on this issue. I didn't copy my library from my old mac to my new mac. I have a new download of DL2 on a new MacBook Pro. I tried the drag and drop from Amazon but that didn't work - it does not solve the problem. Please help me!
-
Inappropriate? We can't figure out the cause of this problem without having a machine that's experiencing the problem. Is there anyone in Seattle that has the problem on a laptop that we could look at (we work out of a coffee shop, and it probably wouldn't take long.)
-
Inappropriate?Sadly i have that same issue. What i experience is the same as the others, the "random dvd case" in place of _ANY_ videogame, no matter what platform (DS, PSP, PS3, Xbox, PSX...... anything, really) and the only platform working properly is the Xbox 360. And the PS2 that had common dvd cases anyway. You can see the results here http://risingsun.jp/deliciouslibrary/ and it's not pretty ;_;
Also the latest titles (PS3 versions of Soul Calibur and Street Fighter 4) have both been added with the iSight barcode scan, and found in the uk Amazon (nothing wrong here, just an info). I recall it happened just a few days ago, though. Hope this can sort of help in some way...... (latest Leopard 1.5.6 on a MacBook, Intel X3100, 2.4ghz T8300, 4gb of ram)
I’m sad

Inappropriate? For those of you having this issue, how many are using external Logitech mice? I found that uninstalling the LCC "Logitech Control Center" fixed my issue for all video game formats. I have also reported this to Delicious Monster as something to look into,

Inappropriate?... crap, I do have a Logitech mouse with the necessary LCC installed.
-
Inappropriate?i just uninstalled LCC and my box covers are now proper!!!! THANKS A TON
-
Inappropriate?Uninstalling the LCC solved the problem, but now my mouse isn't working properly. I hope that this bug gets squashed in the next update.
-
Inappropriate?Same problem....same (albeit annoying) solution. Now that we've got the problem pinned down can we get a fix so I can have both custom mouse buttons and correct display of titles in the next update, por favor?
-
Inappropriate?Logitech updated the LLC to 2.70 today. No change. Versions tested: 2.4, 2.6 and 2.7.
-
Inappropriate? This is frustrating... I'm having the same problem, but my dad isn't... We both scanned in Pokémon Platinum and other DS games, which all show up as DS cases for my dad but in DVD cases for me.

Inappropriate?Just another format that I'm having problem with; I bought a few Gameboy Advance games in Japan when I was there, and I haven't managed to get them to fit correctly either, as they're a different shaped box from the North American one.
I’m waiting
-
Inappropriate? As it is now, all box shape dimensions are dictated by the program in an end-user inaccessible file* and while GBA (U) sizes are in there, GBA (J) sizes are not in there.
If you could, please file a bug with them and let them know the GBA (J) box size is 13.5cm x 8.6cm. (At least, that's what my ruler says.)
With some luck, it'll get put in eventually, although it took over 3 years for them to NOT stick Dreamcast games in DVD shapes (I originally reported in 2005 and it wasn't fixed by DL2 initial release) and I just brought up the GBA (J) box issue on 5/29/08.
On the plus side, when DL2 came out, they did add SegaCD & Sega Saturn (U) support. They also added Sega Saturn (J) soon after.
There still remains the issue of games in special packaging.
*Please correct me if I'm wrong!
I’m undecided
