DL2 and Region 4?
Will Delicious 2 support Region 4 DVDs? And would there be anyway of including Australian stores (jbhifi.com.au, ezydvd.com.au) into the barcode search?

The problem is that for any given country we need some website that is searchable by EANs. From looking at those two sites you posted, and some others, I haven't found one that'll let me hand it the EAN, for, say, the region 4 "The Sopranos Season 6" (7321900836159) and will return any data.
If you know of a data source _that can search by EANS_ for your country, let me know! (This goes for any country out there.) It's not enough for them to simply list EANs -- they have to be searchable!

http://www.moviezoo.dk/Cloverfield-DV...
Searched for cloverfield region 2.

Inappropriate?Score! The first one appears to work, all righty. I'll see what I can do for version 3 (I can't promise anything that far in the future yet).

Wil, a couple of people were also happy to help out with the work if the framework supported it. eg MagicRob and Rahook from thread on MacNN Forum - http://forums.macnn.com/106/delicious... -
Inappropriate? If you use jbhifionline.com.au and do an advanced search there is the option of searching by barcode for dvd's, cd's & games.
http://jbhifionline.com.au/support.as...
I just tried with 2 dvds I had on the desk and it finds them first time.
Blood Brothers (9399700083385) & Bruce Springsteen Live in Barcelona (9399700113556)
I hope this can be included as its what's stopping me purchasing.

Inappropriate? For Aussie books how about Dymocks? http://www.dymocks.com.au/
Or the National Library Australia? http://www.nla.gov.au/find/ and http://librariesaustralia.nla.gov.au/...
I have tried these with 9781740214353 "First Encylcopedia of Australian Wildlife".
Angus & Roberston works but doesn't have the image
http://www.angusrobertson.com.au
Abbey's seems to work in the ISBN field
http://www.abbeys.com.au/search.asp
University Bookshop NZ seems to let you search on EAN but didn't have the title above (LOL)

*ahem* I should add this book scans just fine already in DL2 -
Inappropriate?yep jb hi fi works, I really hope this gets an update so we can use the scanner with our dvds/blu ray, I work for JB and have all my stuff from there :-)
I’m going to be happy

Inappropriate?Fishpond in New Zealand is searchable by EAN.
http://www.fishpond.co.nz -
The Australian Fishpond site also has this option (in advanced search, fill in the ISBN section): http://www.fishpond.com.au/advanced_s... -
Inappropriate?Wil, it seems the best solution would be if you could define an API to a lookup engine, and allow other people to provide "drivers" for searching other data sources. Then you could get a lot of the user community contributing, a win-win situation.

Inappropriate?Hi, i have the same problem with italian books, DVD (region 2) and videogames.
This is the site of the italian online store InternetBookShop:
www.internetbookshop.it
searhing for for books is simple: http://www.ibs.it/code/<ean>
example for "Gomorra": http://www.ibs.it/code/9788804554509/
for DVD and Blu-ray this system don't work, but is possible to search:
http://www.ibs.it/dvd/ser/serdsp.asp?e=<ean>
example for "Il Buono, il Brutto e il Cattivo":
http://www.ibs.it/dvd/ser/serdsp.asp?...
For videogames ("Il Padrino2"):
http://www.ibs.it/vg/ser/serdsp.asp?e...
It is possible to create an Applescript for redirecting the search from i.e. amazon.jp to internetbookshop.it?
Sorry for my english ahd thank's in advance.
Vincenzo.

Inappropriate?I'm holding out for region 4 as well. We have a web page that will search on EANs, so cut us Aussies some slack.

Inappropriate?Wil, did you contact MagicRob from MacNN thread?
You have people offering help, but they received no response to email.
I’m frustrated we cannot have R4 lookups
-
Inappropriate?I had to enter about 190 movies by hand, not the most fun way to spend my time.
Maybe an option to enter a custom search source would be good? Then people from countries that are not supported currently can fund their own source and plug it in.
I do find it a little frustrating that we pay the same amount as everyone else, but a chunk of the functionality doesn't work for us. But, it's an awesome app and getting a copy for my partner was the big reason I bought the MacHeist bundle.

Had you tried scanning the item, and then when it failed search (copy the code), just type the title and get it to import the US or UK version from Amazon, and ensure that the EAN from your DVD is used (paste if it was updated). This way all the data and image is populated and linked to the scanned item.
fairly manual and clumsy, but avoids a lot of typing. -
Inappropriate?R4 would be good to have - I have quite a few R4 DVD's from the days when they were better to own that the R2 versions (horrible Warner cases plus cut versions of films for the UK).

Inappropriate? The Australian Fishpond site also has this option (in advanced search, fill in the ISBN section): http://www.fishpond.com.au/advanced_s...
And my erstwhile employers JB Hi-Fi have a barcode search facility on their recently updated site: http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/defaul...
Another option is dStore. They have books, music and DVDs and are searchable by barcode/ISBN/EAN etc : http://dstore.com.au/
I will be eternally grateful if you could get this fixed ASAP. Thanks in advance...
