OK-- it sounds like a few of you are having this issue. I'm not quite sure what's going on, but this is something we are going to need to go through our bug tracking system for. If you email your issue to "support [at] delicious-monster [dot] com", we have a system that will automatically generate a case number for you. Once you've done that, post your case number on here, and I can take a look at the issue and work with our engineer to find a fix for it. I'll also try and keep you posted in here.
I'm so sorry for the problems you've been having, and hope we can resolve it as soon as possible!

Inappropriate? Please submit this issue to us at support [at] delicious-monster [dot] com. We are trying to track these types of issues there, and by emailing us, you'll get a case number for the issue.

Inappropriate?Hi! This is Barry. I was able to get DL2 working by rebooting my Mac. I seems that a couple of reboots maybe needed to get everything working again. This also fixed a few other apps for me also. Thanks for your response's.
I’m Thankful
-
Inappropriate?2.3 Beta works like a charm so far.

I’m thankful
-
I am afraid this does not solve the problem in my case. -
Inappropriate?Ignacio- If the beta is not solving your problem, try deleting the plist. You'll need to have DL2 quit while doing this, or it won't work properly.
The plist is located at /home/library/preferences/com.delicious-monster.library2.plist. Drag this file onto the trash or your desktop, and then try launching DL2 again.
-
Doesn't work for me yet either. Even after moving the plist to the desktop and relaunching. -
I tried this and DL2 loads and does not hang but no windows load and most menu options are greyed out - opening the prefs doesn't do anything within the app itself. Putting back the old com...prefs file results in the same fault. it hangs. There are other dl pref files too though, see image attached lower down this thread.

Deleting the plist does not solve the problem, sorry. -
Inappropriate?I did that and now it come up with theh following when ever I select an item:
I apologize, but I have become confused, and am in kind of a bad state. I can't save your very latest changes, and I recommend you restart me to get me back into a normal state.
Here is my debugging information. Please report this part to <bugs@delicious-monster.com>:
Object [0x159eb850 <x-coredata: />] from table "iTunesAbstractCollection" has problem "iTunesTracks is not valid. (1550)" with key "iTunesTracks"
I’m sad

I have submitted my log. My case's ticket: 161122_07g6t4v2 -
Inappropriate?Mine is 163474 (163474_qul57vdc)
Logged on 14th but still not actioned/accepted :(
I’m very frustrated and fed-up
-
Inappropriate?Fixed, I had an incompatible webcam and disconnected it. Thanks to the engineers that discovered this problem at Delicious Library.
Case #161122_07g6t4v2
I’m very happy!
-
Inappropriate?swimboy1- Thanks for posting your case number! I've got your email open and will respond right away.

Inappropriate?I'm seeing something different after installing the beta. I'm no longer getting the big brown blotches, but now some of the DVD cover art is only partially showing.
I’m sad
-
My case number is 166430. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?a2gemma- Huh... that shouldn't be happening! Just out of curiosity-- is it only on certain covers? Does it change when you scroll up and down, or restart the program?
I’m curious
-
It's not just certain covers. Different covers disappear if I scroll up and down. If I restart the program, it still does it and different covers disappear.

Terry (support) suggested installing this patch: http://delicious-monster.com/download...
I installed that and the problem is still there. -
Inappropriate?a2gemma- That is extremely odd; you're the only person who has reported this to us so far. What version of Snow Leopard are you running?
-
I'm running 10.6.1. -
I'm having the same issue, I've sent an e-mail with an attachment displaying a problem with the screen redraw just like above. I'm also running 10.6.1
My case number is:170639 -
Oh, and for the record, Beta 4 hasn't solved the problem either. -
Inappropriate?I did have the issue thr a2gemma had, but the latest version of the beta fixed it.
-
Inappropriate?I'm downloading the beta to see if it fixes my problems...
-
Inappropriate? The app has been unable to load for a whole month now. I have already sent my case number. I have tried all the betas you sent me but none works for me.
No one has contacted me for the last three weeks. I am extremely frustrated and sad... Is there really nothing I can do? Is there no solution for this bug?
I’m very sad and frustrated
-
Inappropriate?OK, I opened the beta the other day and was invited to update to the latest beta (now it shows as 2.3 beta 5 (v11619)). Scrolling through the library is still a bit slow, and there are times where the screening drawing takes a bit to catch up, but at least I'm not ending up with blacked-out covers. So we're coming along...
-
Really? I just installed Beta 5 and I'm still getting the blacked out cover problem. -
Inappropriate? To everyone who is still experiencing problems with the 2.3 betas-- I am extremely sorry. The release of the new OS has created a slough of issues in our program (Apple bugs and Delicious Library bugs alike), and we're working overtime to try and iron everything out. It's been a pretty rocky road trying to get things working, but we are trying very hard to fix as many issues as soon as possible. Please understand that since we only have 3 employees, we can only do so much at a time. We prioritize bugs by which ones effect the most people, so those are the ones that will get done first.
Make sure you've sent emails to support [at] delicious-monster [dot] com so that you have a case number. We go through and answer each email, and don't close them until the issue is solved. I guarantee you that if you send an email there, your case will get looked at. I can make note of your issues here, and do troubleshooting for things I may be able to resolve via forum support, but all bugs are handled in FogBugz, our email support system.
Again, I am so sorry that people are still experiencing issues with 2.3 (up to beta 7 now)-- but as you can see by the version we're already up to, we are trying very hard to get it right.
-
Inappropriate?Just to chime in on the released 2.3 version - it still does not solve my problem with immediate application hang/crash upon launch as previously reported (Case 166636).
-
Inappropriate?a2gemma- Thanks for letting us know. We're starting to wonder if this particular bug is within the OS rather than our software-- nevertheless, we continue to investigate the issue. I'm terribly sorry you're experiencing it-- hang in there, and hopefully we can figure it out.
-
Inappropriate?Ignacio- You're the only person who I'm seeing having issues launching Delicious Library 2 on your machine. We've fixed a lot of the bugs surrounding launching issues, so I'd like to try and further isolate your issue.
Are you able to set up a test account on your computer, to see if DL2 will launch from there?
-
Inappropriate?Could you help me to set up the test account? I will need some help, as I have never set up such an account before. Thanks.
-
Ignacio, in the system preferences just add a new user account and then log out (via the apple menu) and log back in with the new account. -
Inappropriate? On the test account, I was able to launch DL2 without any problems (although the library was empty, which I suppose it was to be expected).
I even downloaded the new version 2.3 (I couldn't from my normal account), and I transferred the new version to the application's folder. I then logged in to my normal account and tried to launch the 2.3 version from there, but I couldn't. -
I had the problem with several programs when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. The culprit was the permissions for the preference files that were tied to those programs - even though "get info" window showed them to be correct. I did a sledgehammer hack and just brought over the preferences from a functioning test account (finding the 8-10 preferences that were causing the problems). I don't recommend that, but I needed my macbook working in the morning and it was 11:00PM so I just went for brute force.
Do you know how to use the terminal? We could check to see if the permissions actually are correct. -
Inappropriate? No, how do you use the terminal?
-
Inappropriate?Friday DL stopped working again. Would not launch.

To fix, I created a new Test user. Installed the updated DL Beta 2.3.1b1 on the test account. Copied over the library file to the new user and it launched just fine.
Switching back to the old user, it would not launch.
So I copied over the preferences files from New User>Library>Preferences
com.delicious-monster.library2.LSSharedFileList.plist
com.delicious-monster.library2.plist
Launched DL with Shift down to check the library and waited.
Now it hangs after creating the shelf and showing me how many items I have in the sidebar but the shelves never fill up.
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate?pkmonaghan- Would you be able to send this bug report to "support[at]delicious-monster[dot]com"? This sounds like a pretty bad problem, and we're trying to figure out what exactly is going on here. If you send an email to that address, it'll get you a case number. Post that in here so I can go into our bug tracking system and put your report in the right place to get looked at sooner.
-
Inappropriate?I sent in a bug report as requested a week ago and have not heard anything back. Please help. It is still not working at all. Sent one to supportAT and one to helpAT
I’m bummed
-
Inappropriate?errr, hello?
-
Inappropriate?pkmonaghan- First off, let's try getting you to the very latest version of delicious library - http://delicious-monster.com/download...
Second, try this for me: Turn off wifi/disconnect your internet, and then launch DL2. Let me know if this works...
