error publishing
When I attempt to publish or configure publishing I get the following error. I don't have any clue what this means. I primarily want to publish to web just show I can get the interface on my iPod Touch.
When it eventually does attempt to create pages, it always freezes with a couple of pages left.

Inappropriate?that looks like one for Will.
From the error, its an XML structure issue, and (i'm guessing here) is probably an artifact of a corrupted database (Core Data -> XML)
Sorry can't help very much.
One tack that can help you a little, is to create some Smart Shelves with some small (10 items or less) selections of your library and see if you can export those shelves on their own. If you can, then thats probably an indication that my guess is correct. -
Inappropriate?I got this to finally publish to iWeb but it still stalls with MobileMe. I am anxiously awaiting the App for the iPod touch!
-
Inappropriate?Scott, do you have any issues or errors when publishing to "Folder" on your mac?
If not, then it would appear to be some issue with connectivity to MobileMe. -
Yes, even when I attempt to publish to "Folder" Library freezes on me. My mac may just be too slow... -
Inappropriate?well I run DL2 on an iBook G4 (late model 2004) and it works just fine.
I'd be interested to know what spec machine you are running on. certainly i see from your screenshot that you appear to be running Leopard (Spaces and Time Machine icons in the menu bar)
I'd still guess that you have one or more "corrupt" records in your DL2 database. -
Inappropriate?Well, we are running on the same machine actually... Do you know how I would find corrupt records in DL2?
-
Inappropriate?well thats the tricky part.
from your screen shot, you don't really have a very large database.
first thing first, turn off subscriptions to iTunes databases, then try to export all your shelves, see if thats the issue
second, change the Publish Settings to Folder, and then change the "publish What" to a single shelf.
try and export each shelf in turn to see if the issue is underlying with your DL2, or if it is specific to a particular shelf.
if you find that it is specific to a particular shelf, then create a set of smart shelves based on the shelf with the possibly faulty data.
export each of the smart shelves in turn as before to determine where the issue lies.
repeat by making the Smart Shelves more specific (therefore smaller) until you have found your faulty data item or items.
Removing them from the DL2 database and then rescanning them should fix your issue, if this is your issue and not something much more mercurial.
