Inappropriate?DL2 has several different search modes, which isn't entirely obvious. On the left-hand side of the Search field, there's a magnifying glass icon. If you click that, a pop-up menu appears with the options "Title or People," "Descriptions," or "Numbers." Title or People searches for your strings only in Title and people-based tags (author, creator, writer, cinematographer, etc); Description searches most other fields (Synopsis, features, notes, etc), while Numbers searches in ISBN, Amazon link, and a few others.
So, for this search, you have to make sure you select "Numbers," and it should work perfectly.
I don't know precisely which fields correspond to which search modes; this info is based on quick testing on my end. Maybe, when the "Help" file is released, we can have that information made explicit.
It'd be great if there was an "All" search mode (which was the default mode), where you searched every field, but that may be too complicated, or something DM doesn't want to do. Maybe I'll submit a feature request, and see what happens.

Inappropriate?Good explanation -- if you mouse-over the search field and wait, the tooltip text shows you exactly what will be searched.
I didn't add an "all" mode because I was worried it might be INCREDIBLY slow for large collections. I might play with it later, see if i is. -
You might contemplate adding the subtitle field to the title search, please, since the title search won't turn up words contained only in the subtitle. Thanks -
Inappropriate?I suspected that may be why there was no "All"... how do apps like iTunes get around that kind of problem? I suppose they don't search NEARLY as many fields, which would make a huge difference.
Once you know about the search modes, it's easy enough, so it's not a big deal.
