How to make Delicious Library look up items on the UK store
I'm in the UK. I've set "UK" or "Your country" as my preferred country in the prefs, but DL is getting data from the other countries stores so many fields are incorrect.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately Amazon UK isn't currently documented to allow us to look items up by EAN (13-digit barcodes), and so even if you've set your preferences to prefer UK, sometimes we have to fall back on other Amazon stores if you scan an EAN.
We have some extra code where we first try to turn the EAN into an Amazon product number by doing a different kind of search, and it's possible this other code isn't working so well any more. Can you post the EAN numbers of some items that are failing to look up in the UK, so I can check?
Thanks,
-Wil -
If this is the case why is it only a problem with SCANNED items - if you input the barcode manually it works everytime (the only exception seems to be CDs that dont seem to work at all for any country). In fact what I have done on a couple of occasions is copy the EAN field from the record created by scanning the item & doing a manual search - again works every time..... its like the scanning code goes off and does its own thing... btw if you have the activity window open while scanning it looks like scanned items aren't even tried in the UK. This again is different to a manual entry where it shows up on the activity monitor as checking the UK first. -
Inappropriate?I see! So far I have not had any scanned barcodes get results from .uk.
OK try 5030305920012. Bad Girls - Series 1. I got results from .fr
5031932103151 Live: Everything, Everything by Underworld. I got results from .jp
PS currently I am entering DVDs manually using the + button - this goes to .uk
Good luck,
John

jovike - me too , I had to input 300 movies by hand , and everyone of them worked manually , I must have tried about 20 or 30 by scanning and they didnt seem to be checked in the UK at all. -
Inappropriate? This is still not working, by the way. Scanned items never get UK data. Sorry Wil, I understand the reason why but it's always, not sometimes as you say. I am having to enter all my DVDs manually. Should be finished in a couple of weeks!
I am on the latest version of DL and I have tried deleting the prefs.

Inappropriate? As someone who has only just today got a scanner I have found the same issue - added 400 scans and most return results for Japan, Canada etc., If I select the EAN number and add manually then it finds it from the UK site without any problem.
Please, any chance of a fix for this - if it can't be done at the point of which the scanned data is loaded then how about an option after to rework it, on bulk, based on looking at each EAN number?

Inappropriate?jovike- We're going to take a look at this, but it would help us out a ton if you could send us the problem description via email to "support[at]delicious-monster[dot]com". That address is hooked up to our official bug tracking system, and that way it'll let us link you up with other people having the same issue and you'll have a case # and everything. Once you've done that, post your case # on here so I can file it in the proper place to be looked at :-)
I'm in the middle of working on some stuff with internationalization, so the sooner we get a case started for you, the sooner we can start our investigations. Apologies for the trouble you've been having, and if you don't want to bother e-mailing us its okay; I'd just like to get this issue sorted out so we don't have to put out all our UK customers!
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Release 2.3.3 should fix this... I just tested the two samples UPCs that "jovike" posted, and the first was found in the UK, the second in the US.
The company and 1 other person say
this solves the problem
