Imported iTunes Albums Split into Two
For some reason, DL2 shows some iTunes albums twice. One copy contains some of the tracks; the other, the remainder. I don't see a pattern, e.g. not played versus played. In iTunes, the album appears correctly.
Edit: After further examination, I do see a possible pattern. The "purchase date" that DL shows is different on the two album instances. But, spot-checking the iTunes info, I don't see where those dates are mapped from.
This doesn't look like desired behavior. (N.B. I see the same behavior both on iTunes 9 on OS 10.6 and iTunes 8 on OS 10.5.)

Inappropriate?I had the same problem and found a suggestion that has worked for me.
Select all of the tracks in the album, right click and choose "Get Info". Add a blank character to the end of the artists name and click on "OK". All of the tracks then became part of one album. Right click again and use the "Get Info" option to remove the extra blank that had just been added.
Problem sorted. It might be that the blank would have to be inserted in one of the other common fields, if the artist's name doesn't work, but that'll need some testing out - if necessary.
Good luck all. -
Inappropriate?I think that the "Date purchased" tag is coming from "Date Added" in iTunes (to view that, hit command-J in iTunes and check the box for Date Added).
Since DL2 shows the iTunes music by album instead of track, I can understand why it'd want to split the album into 2 if there was mismatched information-- however, that leads to it showing 2 albums instead of 1... so it might be odd either way it worked (i.e. if it only displayed 1 album, which date would it show?). For now, Chris's workaround seems pretty sound (either doing that or modifying the date in iTunes).
