isight causing constant crashes
Delicious Library 2 launches fine, and loads all of my iTunes music without a problem. I can enter any items I need to manually. But when I attempt to launch the iSight scanner, the program becomes unresponsive. I must force quit the program. The iSight scanner window never even opens. Immediately after clicking the icon for it, I get the spinning beachball and the program is unresponsive. I've looked for possible conflicts in drivers, but have found nothing.
Any known issues or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Inappropriate?Brad, can you share some information about your mac?
Type? Processor? Memory? OS Version? DL2 version?
Internal/External iSight?
Secondly, if you turn off iTunes (Subscribe to my iTunes Library) in preferences, what happens then when you open the Scan window? -
Inappropriate?Late 2008 MBP, 2.2 GHz, 2GB DDR2 RAM, DL2 v. 2.1.1, internal iSight, OSX 10.5.7, with no outstanding updates.
after unchecking all subscriptions in the preferences, it still caused the app to be unresponsive when clicking the isight button on the bottom. because the app only becomes unresponsive and does not crash, I don't get a proper crash report either. I only get a report after I force quit it.
-
Inappropriate?Brad- I haven't heard any other issues like this, which leads me to believe it might be something funny in your OS. Are you able to create another user account and try launching from there? Is there another computer you could load your library onto and try the iSight scanning on?
-
Inappropriate? The issue doesn't exist on the test account. Is there a way to identify the conflict in the force quit report? Since it doesn't cause a full crash, the only report I can obtain is the one generated after the unresponsive application quits.
-
Inappropriate?Brad- I'm not sure that we'd be able to identify the exact cause of the crash from that report, let alone be able to fix the issue. There's something going on in your home directory that's causing the application to crash when you try accessing the iSight camera. There are a lot of different reasons it could be crashing, and I actually might recommend going to the Genius Bar at an Apple store to see if they can sift through some things for you. They might end up recommending a reinstallation of the OS (an archive+install or something), but I'm not sure if that would actually fix the issue... It wouldn't hurt to check in with them, though.

Inappropriate?I've added over 200 items to my library, most with the iSight camera - but now I freeze up every time I attempt to open the camera window.
-
Inappropriate? The same happens with me. It worked fine in the beginning but now crashes as soon as I try to open the camera to scan in images. Can only force-quit it. From the comments here, there seems to be no solution. It's a pity as I just bought the license. Is there anything in the works to fix it?
-
Inappropriate?Glenn Dixon and matthias.schuster- There is a bug in the latest public release of Delicious Library that causes the iSight to hang on some peoples' computers. Try this beta to see if it fixes this issue for you: http://tinyurl.com/6lgnsm
Let me know if that doesn't fix it, and we can try troubleshooting from there!
