Issues with publishing the library.
I use delicious library as a way to maintain an actual library of reference materials. I love that dl2 allows me to publish the library so that folks can browse the bookshelves online, but I think there is either something I don't know or can't do with this data.
1. I mistakenly put my own name in as the account holder, so when I publish, all 94 pages have my name instead of the library's name on them. Is there a way that I can fix this so that I don't have to manually edit 94 pages of data?
2. Once the data is publish, I notice that one may ONLY browse shelves in my library. That is, if someone wants to look for an author, there is no search window for that.
Can someone please tell me how to remedy these issues?
You may respond to ofe@unf.edu if you please.

Inappropriate?1. If you don't mind having no information, you could simply change the DL2 "Web Privacy" preference to "Show Nothing Identifying" and republish. Otherwise, couldn't you (temporarily?) change your User Name in System Preferences and republish?
2. Correct, there is currently no search.
In the meantime, if you want to make it easier to search by author, you could just use several shelves. (Doesn't help when there are multiple authors but it's better than nothing, I suppose.) -
Inappropriate?Hmm, I believe for #1, this is actually a licensing issue. Can anyone tell me how to edit the name on my license?
Thanks for the clarification on #2, thought it makes me sad to know there is no searching allowed... -
Inappropriate?Just did a test. I changed my User Name to "Library of Congress"* and launched DL2. Publishing my library to a test folder did indeed result in "Library of Congress" showing up as the name on the HTML. :}
*Not actually my name.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? You Changed your user name where? How?

Inappropriate? You change your User Name in System Preferences.

Inappropriate?OK. Thanks. It seems that my company's IT dept has made it so that I log into my mac with an identity that is immutable. Any ideas on how to adjust DL such that it pulls the date from elsewhere?
-
Inappropriate?Wow. That's odd. I know both Standard and Admin users can change their User Names. (Perhaps your user account is on the network?)
In System Preferences > Accounts, what does it say under your name on the left?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Yes, my account is on a network.
I tried creating a new identity with the name I want, but it doesn't recognize the library from the original account. Is there a way to share the original library with the new account? -
Inappropriate? If you just want to move the library to the new account, the easiest way is to move (copy) the library file.
To do that, just copy the ~/Library/Application Support/Delicious Library 2 folder to the same location in the new account.
