I have the artwork in my iTunes library and finder but its not importing and I can't replace it by dragging in the iTunes music section.

Inappropriate? What kinds of items are these? Are they from the iTunes store, or did you RIP them from your own DVDs? If the latter, how did you get the artwork -- did you use iTunes' automatic download feature?
Thanks,
-W -
Inappropriate? In my case there is NO embedded artwork (unless I have missed a few - easy to do with thousands of tracks to handle). All the music has been ripped by me (nothing purchased from the iTMS) and the artwork has been 'Downloaded' by iTunes and it is all displaying as it should in iTunes.
Yesterday there was one album I noticed that showed no artwork in DL. Today, DL has been restarted and IS displaying the artwork for that album.
But I have found 2 other albums (may be more) that have no artwork in DL, yet display correctly in iTunes. Again, this would be artwork 'Downloaded' by iTunes, not embedded.
Any ideas?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Sorry I was away so couldn't answer :(
However...
The music is ripped and downloaded respectively (four albums, two by Denis Leary and two by Godspeed! You Black Emperor) but I used the find artwork feature for all of them, and they were all found. However I have had the occasional appearance of artwork for one of the four albums, but then it will be gone again at other times so I am likewise confused (like UKenGB)
Sorry for very long reply time again, internet going down for five days - bad, bad, bad.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Under 2.0.2 I changed how I find artwork, so I don't get "Downloaded" images any more. I was using some private Apple stuff and was hoping I could stop doing so.
Sounds like I can't. Darn. -
Inappropriate? So 2.0.2 does not even try to find the 'downloaded' artwork? That would explain why I now see NO artwork:-(
I thought the release notes said you had now sorted where to look for artwork so it should all work? Are you now saying you cannot display 'downloaded' artwork?
It must be possible for you to find the artwork. There are AppleScripts that can do it.
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?AppleScript was one of our first approaches, but it is VERY SLOW. You wouldn't be able to scroll, even.
I can find "Local" artwork but not "Downloaded," because of a bug (omission) in iTunes 7, where they introduced the concept of albums but did NOT put the album IDs into the iTunes XML file. Since the "Downloaded" artwork directory is keyed by album ID, and I don't know that ID, I can't match which piece of art goes to which song/album.
The "Local" directory is apparently used by iTunes itself now -- if you buy a song, it'll put the artwork in there, I think. Honestly, they don't document this stuff (not since iTunes 6), so I have to do a lot of guesswork. Anyhow, that directory is keyed off the song ID, which I *do* have, so I can find artwork in there.
I know, this kind of stinks. In 2.0 and 2.0.1, I would fall back on the private iTunesAccess framework, which is what the Finder uses to get iTunes artwork for QuickLook, but it was a couple orders of magnitude slower than my code, and also would occasionally crash, and so I removed it in 2.0.2 to see if that improved the situation for users.
Apparently not. I think I have another solution for the crashing problem (I think I understand the framework better) so I'll try to get it back in for 2.0.3. -
Inappropriate?I have often wondered what is the difference between those 2 folders in Album Artwork (Download and Local) and I'm still not sure. There is stuff in both, but 100x more in Download.
ALL my albums have artwork 'downloaded' by iTunes. By choosing 'Get Album Artwork', from the menu as a first attempt, then from a track's contextual menu to catch those it missed first time. So iTunes has decided whether to place the downloaded image in the Download or Local folder. What is the criteria for its decision? Everything is actually downloaded. Bill, do you know precisely how iTunes decides on where to put the artwork.
iTunes is very good, but it really falls down on some basic stuff. Anything you can do to get artwork to display would be much appreciated. -
Inappropriate?I'll second that, sorry to stumble across such an annoying thing. other than that though, absolutely amazing bit of software I did :O face the first time I scanned something in.
Also, I know enough to know I would be lost with any coding, so hats off and here's to solutions - eventually :)
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?not sure if this is the right place - but I have used scan internet for art work. it takes you to google images. okay - so there it is. HOW do you attach the image?

Inappropriate?Hi people I have had all sorts of trouble with extra content in iTunes but I found a program online which can find missing artwork and fix albums with missing or incorrect titles. It also gives you other info such as genre, release date etc.
The program is called Tune Up, I downloaded a trial version which gives you so many free fixes, after that there is a fee but it is a one off, so good luck.
