Scanning old books - finding wrong titles
I have a lot of old mass-market paperbacks. When I scan them, they almost always come up with the wrong titles. That's OK when it finds multiples because then I just search by ISBN and find the correct one. But if only one match is found, DL automatically assigns it. Then I have to delete the wrong one and manually enter a new item.
Any hints? I'm using version 1 by the way because I'm on Tiger.

Inappropriate?I believe this is because older numbers get reassigned and reused over time, I have the same issue and there's not a lot you can do about it.

Inappropriate? If you check the book, and there is a barcode on the inside cover, use that one and it should work. I just ran into this myself and that made a huge difference.

Inappropriate?Deborah is pretty right on, but this seems to be an American thing having barcodes inside of the front cover, and the only publisher I seem to have with this is Baen Books.
UK published books don't have them.
Secondly, it appears the EAN is what gets reused more often than not, ISBN numbers are much less regurgitated (thats not meaning that it doesn't happen, it does)
