Switching from List to Cover View causes hang
Switching from list view (what the program is opening in by default atm) to cover view is causing DL to hang.
I have downloaded the latest 2.2 with not luck.
Is there a way to force a rebuild or some other fix?

For everyone who is experiencing issues when switching from list to shelf view, worry not! This issue, lovingly dubbed "Sun Squirrel" here at Delicious Monster HQ, has been fully resolved in Delicious Library 2.3 (currently in beta, here: http://delicious-monster.com/download... if you'd like to try it).
Let me know if this fixes the issue for you, or if this *doesn't* fix the issue for you... It's important that we know how we're doing!

Inappropriate?I had a similar problem and this workaround worked for me:
- Quit DL2
- Move the library data file from ~/Library/Application Support/Delicious Library 2/ to the desktop.
- Start DL2 and create a new empty Library
- Switch to cover flow view.
- Quit DL2
- Move the library data file from the desktop back to ~/Library/Application Support/Delicious Library 2/
That ́s it. After that I had no problems anymore and could switch back and forth again.1 Comment Add a comment

Sorry Jens. I tried your workaround but it didn't work for me.
The application only hangs at switching views when previously you haver closed it in "list view" and you have a non-empty library.
I mean: Your workaround works with the empty library but if you reload the old library, switch to list view and close the program, when you re-open it again and try to switch to cover view it hangs again.

Inappropriate?Miguel- Heh heh that looks like Maja who said 2.3 would be out by the end of the week =) The beta for 2.3 is certainly out (which you can download here: http://delicious-monster.com/download... ), but we had an extra kink to work out which pushed the grand release back a little while. Sorry for the wait, but trust me, it's worth it. This update is pretty major.
My avatar is indeed a picture of me (since it would probably be weird if I had a picture of some other chick's face).

I just tried the Beta 2.3 and it works PERFECTLY. Thanks a lot for a great job. Yours is truly a wonderful program.
By the way. I changed myself the defaut wooden background for another one more... "industrial and grey". I tried with concrete, painted paper, metal, but IMHO this looks quite nice. If you would I will be glad to send you a screen capture with the different image packages in case you might consider to add them as an option for future releases.
I think the grey gives the colored Cd and DVD cases more relevance, as it does in iTunes and so.
Anyway, congratulations for a very good job.

No he hecho nada especial. Tan sólo desinstalar la versión antigua e instalar la nueva arrastrando el archivo .app al directorio de aplicaciones. Vamos, el procedimiento standard.
No sé si importa pero tango el Snow Leopard instalado.

Si desinstalo la antigua supongo que se pierde toda la información de library. He pasado la beta a aplicaciones y funciona... pero trasteando por los items en vista carátula se cierra de repente, me lo ha hecho 10 veces, en vista lista no. Supongo que es por el peso de las imágenes, mi library pesa 3,5 Gb tengo volcados 600 libros y como no hay carátulas en español decentes hice fotos con el iphone y las pasé a library.

If you don't want to lose your existing library data, I think that you can either save a backup (and reload it when you install the new version) or directly drag the beta .app file into the applications folder because it won't erase any of your old preferences and linked files (like your existing library).
About the problem that you're having with the new beta hanging frecuently in cover view, it's a pity and it's important for the company to know it. Maybe the Beta is only working in some conditions.
