Adapter error message...no battery charging
I have the Inspiron 1525 that keeps saying adapter cannot be recognized at startup and it will NOT charge the battery. I tried to go update BIOS but it says I can't until I get at least 10% battery life, which I am at 0%. There is no damage to the port or the plug or the adapter. I am using the adapter that came with the laptop. I just got this laptop in Dec as a graduation present. Please help.

Inappropriate? You need to contact Dell tech support for this issue on the 1525. They may need to replace both the ac adapter and motherboard. I would advise you not to let this one slip past warranty expiration.

I have seen numerous other posts regarding other models and they are mentioning some sort of small plastic piece where the port is supposed to be attached to the motherboard. Could this be the issue with my model? -
Hey Bill,
Is your offer of personally overnight delivering new adapters still on the table? It's ridiculous that dell is still dealing with this problem and with ALL or MOST of their models.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Same exact problem on a 1526. It started 2 weeks after purchase, but my girlfriend just ignored it forever and opted to just complain about how much she hates her laptop instead. I have no idea whether it's still under warranty.
