Common laptop battery/adapter prob. A Dell scam?
Can anyone from Dell or anyone here please anyone tell me how to get my Dell Insiron to recognize the brand new (2 month old) Dell battery I bought. My notebook is only 15 months old but now it's out of warranty.
I have the ac power adapter that came with my purchase from Dell. After seeing posts from ppl who think this is an adapter problem I bought a new adapter. (90 w universal adapter. So now my new adapter and my original Dell adapter seem to be unrecognized by my laptop. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated.
Dell ppl- in this economy nobody can buy a new laptop every 15 months. I wish I could get my money back from Dell for the second battery. I purchased it from Dell 3 months after my warranty expired. It did not solve this problem. I don't know what to do. Is there any recourse?

Inappropriate?I'm in the same boat. So the universal 90 watt adapter didn't work? I'm wondering if I buy a new 90 watt Dell adapter, how will I know I'm not getting another one of thier bad adapters? Do they make any with shielded cables?
But since this was a Dell problem, and my warrantey just ended I feel they should give free replacement adapters for all the trouble this has caused so many people.
