Computer dies while fully charged
I just bought a new battery for my Insperon 1520 as the last one died. Everything was fine until last night it just shut off. The batery is charged and it runs off the power chord but will not turn on with the batery. Thoughts? Its a third party batery if that makes any difference. Lithium.

Inappropriate?I don't recommend using third party batteries to anyone, and this situation perfectly illustrates why. There's just no way we can be sure the battery is working properly, or that the battery is designed to Dell's specifications.
It could be that the system isn't recognizing your third party battery, or it could actually be a problem with the system itself. Do you still have the old battery? Was the system behaving any differently with the old battery, i.e. was it turning on but wasn't lasting for more than a few minutes? If the answer is yes to both those questions, you can almost completely rule out the system as hathe source of the current problem.
